Dan's P.O.V.

No matter how hard I try I can't make math seen any longer. I have art next and I'm not looking forward to it. It's the only class I have with all of the LGBT+ bullies and after what they said, art will become miserable. Before I know it the bell rings ending first period going to second. I keep my head down in the hallways. I don't have any of my friends to be by my side until third. Great.

I walk into the room spying Gene, Phil, Jack, and Nick near a corner in the back. Once one of them spots me they point and the others look to go back to talking. Please don't ring bell. Please.

Ring

Shit. I go and sit at my seat with a pretty good group. We're the only table that has three people instead of five. The other two are Ryan and Travis. Travis always complains about their artwork after comparing it to ours. Ryan has a tendency to go on their phone since they usually finish early. Apparently these two have been great friends since seventh grade and bonded a lot in their core class. They've tried to start up a few conversations with me but they never really last long. They seem nice though. I'm just glad they don't have to sit with the homophobes since they have a tendency to talk about gay pride a lot. They even created a pact that if they're both single by the time their thirty they're getting married. I've gone too much into this. At least it took my mind off of Gene and his group...a little.

"Alright class," Ms. Alessa begins today's class bringing everyone's attention to the front of the room. "As you know we're switching seats today so grab your belongings and go along the side of the classroom."

Everyone rushes to stand by their friends hoping to end up together. I just nervously wait hoping they were lying about the request. Soon it's just the last two tables in the back.

"Alright at this table," she points to a table closer to the sink. "We have Ryan, Travis, Leona, Aaron, and Ross."

The group slightly cheers while I let out a soft sigh. I look over to see the remaining giving me a 'friendly' smile.

"And last here," she points to a table near the windows. "We have Gene, Jack, Nick, Dan, and Phil."

Shit. They weren't just trying to scare me. They actually did it. I take a seat a the circular table with Phil to my left and Gene to my right and a view outside. Jack and Nick have their backs to the windows. I can't believe Ms. Alessa would do this. She's one of the nicest teachers and she puts me into a table of hell? I put my head down on the table while Ms. Alessa tells us the assignment. We're supposed to draw something that means a lot to us that not everyone knows about.

"Hey Dan," Gene taps on the back of my head as I lift it up. I look at his face and see...a warm smile? Has he become nice? "What are you going to draw?"

"Uh, I don't really know. Why do you ask?" I feel a bit uneasy about his smile now...

"Well I have a suggestion," Gene's smile turns into that face when he's about to say something you don't want to hear. "How about you draw a dick? That seems like something you like that hm, only your friends and us truly know."

"That's not the only thing..." I mumble under my breath letting a sigh out.

"What was that Danny boy?" Gene asks leaning over my paper as I pick up the pencil.

"None of your business. Learn about personal space physically and mentally." He doesn't bother me again as I begin to draw a sketch of my self with a line through the middle of my face. On the left is a slight frown with the word secrets while on the right I have a smile with the word trust. I try to add more details, but the bell rings and I rush to get out.
