Toss to Me | Kageyama Tobio x Reader

A/N: I feel that that title has been used a lot... but I'm still gonna use it. It's a beach theme! Enjoy~

What better way to spend the day than waste it in the hot, burning sun at a beach with burning sand. Your friend asked if you were free today and you said yes but you were not expecting to be in the sun. As much as you wanted to decline his offer, you couldn't just say no to Sugawara. His smile too bright and blinding to say no to.

You let out a long sigh as you huddle to yourself under the umbrella, which gave you little to none protection from the sun. You watched as your school's volleyball team decided to have a beach volleyball practice in this glazing hot sunlight. Mental note to yourself, do not wear black in the summer.

"What's the matter?" a voice called from above, a voice rather deep for Sugawara who you would expect to check up on you. You looked up from your huddled position and your heart almost jumped out of your chest. It was Kageyama who was looking down at you with much concern on his face.

"It's hot outside.." You said rather quickly. Kageyama gave a nod in response and the air between you two seemed to have thickened.

"Do.. you want to sit down?" You motioned to the empty seat next to you.

"Can I?" He asked with a slight squeak in his voice. You laughed a bit from hearing his request, as if he was a little kid asking for shade.

"Yeah go ahead." You smiled. Kageyama nodded and he showed a small smile right before he sat down. You could hear a content sigh coming from him the moment he sat down. Yeap, it's too hot to be outside.

"You know, you can join them in playing volleyball. I think they're just playing around, not practicing.." Kageyama started up the conversation.

"Is that why you're here? Because you can't take a volleyball game seriously when your teammates are playing for fun?" You let out another laugh.

"Yeah.. and I thought maybe.. you needed some company?" Kageyama fumbled with his words and evidently there was a blush on his face. You smiled at how cute and honest he was that you ended up ruffling his hair.

"Thanks Kageyama. Hey maybe I'll take up on that offer. Maybe I'll cool down while playing." You grinned and gave him a light punch to his arm. Which you now just noticed he was not wearing a shirt.

"I won't go easy even if it's you on the field." Kageyama grinned back.

"Aw, I thought you were going to toss to me." You pouted. Kageyama blushed once again trying to regain his posture.

"I mean, I guess if you want me to toss to you, I don't mind."

"Then toss to me~" you playful teased the blushy boy, who gave you a genuine smile back knowing that you wouldn't mind someone like him to toss to you.
