Another long training regime done in preparation for the war and already you were exhausted just as the rest of the paladins. You were the moral support for the team but no means that you will sit back and relax. You were rescued by the paladins from one of the Galra battles and you wanted to do whatever you can in your power to help the team. Princess Allura appreciated your efforts but she could not allow someone to risk their life in this battle. You stood your ground and convinced her to let you on board. This would have ended for days if not for Shiro stepping in and being the one to ensure your safety.

You made your way slowly to the room where everyone is usually at for meetings or just to talk. The door slid open and to your surprise, no one was present. You glanced around and no was in sight. A small frown was present on your face and you let out a sigh. Might as well as take the time and just lounge for a bit before going back to training.

Walking to the couch, you laid down and closed your eyes. You thought back to when you joined the team in this war. Shiro was against the idea of you being in the training room in that he promised you can fight alongside, just not directly on the battlefield. His words made your chest tighten, but you managed to prove to him your worth. Shiro let out a sigh and he knew that he couldn't fight you since you were so confident and head-strong.

Deep in your memories, you soon fell asleep on the couch. It was something you needed and you should have taken a shower. Somehow being in the wide room gave you a calm feeling and soon it will be filled with chatter from the other members of the team.

The doors slid open and another person walked into the room. He was also surprised no was in sight. Walking around the couch, he was taken by seeing you asleep on the couch. The black paladin smiled to himself as he made himself comfy on the couch next to you, making sure that he didn't wake you up. He watched you with soft eyes and there was a bit of regret he had for allowing you to join this war. Shiro wanted nothing more than for you and your people to be at peace, yet that look of determine on your face was something he could not look away.

"You sure are something aren't you?" Shiro softly chuckle. Despite your determination, Shiro was sure that there were times that you missed your family. He promised to bring you home safely and to keep you from harm. What Shiro wasn't aware was that you looked up to him more than just a leader, he was someone who brought you a hope for a future where there isn't war anymore.

Shiro felt a slight movement coming from you and he gave you room to wake up. You sat up from your laying form and stretched your arms up while letting out a small yawn.

"Had a good nap?" Shiro's voice echoed through your ears. You jumped from the sound and clutched your chest. Out of all the people you expected to see when you wake up, Shiro was the last. Not that you minded, but whenever you were with him there would be little jumps in your stomach and your face would heat up. The more you worked alongside with Shiro, the more you were sure of your feelings for him. However, you were not ready to admit it and were willing to wait until the whole matter was over.

"I did, do you know where everyone is?" You asked him. Shiro shook his head in response and you nodded. You watched him gripped his robotic arm with a sadden look on his face. You bit your lip and your hand reached over to his. Shiro looked at you with his eyes wide and you returned with a smile.

"One-step at a time Shiro." You smiled. Shiro smiled back and he held your hand back in comfort.

"One-step at a time." Shiro repeated. There was a feeling of warmth from Shiro's hand to yours and you felt that nothing could ruin this moment.

That is until the door opened and everyone appeared to have fallen into one pile of sneaky, eavesdropping group of friends.
