this is my first story so would love feedback! I don't mind critisism of any kind!

Lying on my side I looked out of the window, yet another rainy day. I listened to the rain as it made a gentle pattering sound on the window that was both soothing and annoying. Rolling off my bed, I padded across the room to my computer and sat down.

Usually, when it rained in Ethrion there isn’t much to do. All my friends were with there significant others, while I was single and not bothered by the fact, mostly because I’d learnt early on in my life that finding someone who wanted a relationship was hard. Even harder when you were gay and lived in a place where the religious outlook frowned upon it.

All my previous encounters with girls had gone badly. They were either “straight” or just wanted to fool around. So basically, I’d given up on the whole idea of finding someone.

I sat at my computer and quickly checked my e-mails, nothing interesting there, just the usual spam mail. After a couple of minutes surfing the web, I decided to take a look at the school website. Said school that I had been transferred too after moving from Hudon (where I was born and raised, even there the religious outlook was the same, but it’s a different religion where I live now). It looked alright, defiantly an improvement to the shabby look of my old school.

I looked around the site a bit and found nothing of interest and decided to get to know this new place that me and my parents had just moved too. My dad was a business man and the company he owned had just gone international. I didn’t see it as a good thing, I hardly saw my dad as it was and knowing that he would be gone a lot more made persuading me to move difficult.

After a moment or two of just sitting and staring at the now blank computer screen, I got up and changed from tracky bottoms and a baggy t-shirt, into a pair of sturdy jeans and a thick huddie to top the look off. I put on a pair of steel toe caped boots which were comfy and protected my toe’s from my clumsiness.

Ten minutes later I got a lecture from my mum about not to wander to far, because dinner would be ready soon. (I swear that woman still thinks I’m 7 not 17)After telling her I wouldn't go too far, I was ready to explore. The house that my dad had bought was close to a massive forest. He may have bought it, but I’d picked the location as I was always looking for adventures to go on. (No wonder my mum still thought I was 7) My adventures in the past had got me in trouble quite a few time’s, believe me. When I say running from the authority is not fun, it isn't. Especially when they were used to running. The only advantage I have is that I’m a really good climber and wall’s are not a tough obstacle when it comes to a 17 year old that still like’s climbing trees.

Walking up the dirt path that had been worn out by many feet over time, I got a look at my surroundings. Lush green tree’s marvelled my eye’s as I strolled peacefully through the quietness, the only noises to be heard was of the wind blowing through the tree’s, the presence of chirping  birds and my feet, as they made a slight echo as I walked.

After a while of walking the dirt path gave way to undergrowth. I was tempted to step off the dirt path completely, but knew that dinner would soon be ready. Turning around, I made my way back to the house.
