I leap down the ten steps and quickly turn around to catch the box Mason threw at me. I glare at him and huff angrily.
"I could've been killed you know!" I yelled at him setting the box down near the bathroom door.
"You're fine. You landed like a cat and had the reflexes to catch the box in time. If I didn't think you could do it, I wouldn't have thrown the box." I grit my teeth and put my hands on my hips.
"Then why don't you move your lazy old butt down here and try it yourself Mr. Observant." He chuckles and trots down the steps putting a hand on my shoulder. My body shivered at the touch and my scar tingled.
"I would, but I have a bad back." He pats my shoulder and picks up the box walking into the room down the hallway. I looked around the house once more. This one guy couldn't be living alone, could he. The house was a three bedroom two bathroom house. He wouldn't buy this big of a house all for himself would he? He walks back out and starts walking back up the stairs.
"Bad back my ass..." I mumble walking behind him. He chuckles and opens the door for me.
"I heard that." I roll my eyes and step out onto the pavement cracking my knuckles and looking at the few boxes left and piano along with a mattress.
"How 'bout a deal." I look at him with a raised eyebrow.
"I'm listening." I lean up against the piano.
"If we an move all the rest of my stuff in...." He taps his chin in thought, I look at the rest of his stuff (crap), "around 2-3 hours, I'll buy you dinner." My eyes brighten and I grap a box.
"Deal!" I say happily. He laughs and grabs another box beside me.
Around two hours and a piano later I was laying on the carpet in the living room huffing out breathes. I playfully punch Mason in the shoulder letting out a breathy laugh. He was such a butt! He mad me carry the piano down the stairs then made me take it back up, deciding he wanted it in the family room instead. He laughs and crawls over putting me in a headlock. I squirm and laugh yelling at him at how much of a butt and jerk he is. He just laughed it off and ended up wrestling with me. He was like a second father, an actual father. I considered Shean one as well but, Mason somehow felt closer. I manage to get out of his grasp, grabing a pillow from one of the boxes, and slamming it into his face. He growls playfully and grabs another pillow hitting me on the shoulder. I yelp and fall to the ground, jeez he was strong. I quickly block my face as the pilow flies towards me. I tap the ground in surrendor and wait until the pillow stops hitting me to sit up and pounce.
"Am I interupting something here?" Some coughs rudely from the door. Mason and I turn to see a girl standing there. She had short dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. I slump down a bit awkwardly, dropping the pillow to the floor. Mason scratches his head as well as dropping the pillow, coughing embarrassed. The girl tapped her foot impatiently for one of us to talk, Mason's embarrassed stance quickly changed and he grinned.
"Shay! It's nice to finally grace us with your presence," Mason stated peaking in a British accent. I couldn't help ut laugh, Shay made a face of disgust.
"I can't believe I'm related to you!" She groans stomping her foot and trudging down the stairs walking into one of the bedooms. I waited for the door to slam efore I bursted into laughter. After a minute, Mason did as well. I shake my head, Shay huh? She seemed nice (note sarcasm).
"Your roomie seems nice," I say sarcastically. Mason chuckles and stands walking up te steps, I follow behind him.
"She is, under all her attitude," he grins slipping on his shoes "She's my sister's daughter. And I believe I promised you dinner." I smile widely and slip on my shoes as well.
"I believe you did."
