Hidden Through Water

Peru's POV

I opened my eyes to the wilderness of the woods, remembering my dream from the night. I've never been able to sleep peacefully, not with the danger of a creature coming to kill me.

Plus I am a demigod, what more could I expect. If you are wondering, I have no family. My dad died at age 7 when he was killed due to a malfunction at his job and mom ran away, well walked away, from me when I was about 3. It is said that she drowned or mysteriously disappeared. Therefor I live on my own in the woods. It'a all right, I'm a expert on stealing stuff and the sea is near here.

I also have a boyfriend named Jayden, he has an identical twin brother named Jordan. Took me years to figure them apart. We're really close and their dad treats me as almost as if I was his daughter. I use to live here with a guy named Luke and a girl named Thalia, but I haven't seen them since.

Deciding I wouldn't go back to sleep I went to wash up. No I don't take a shower with scented lotions and potions. I go to a little pond and use a bar of soap that Jayden got at a hotel they stayed in. It's not much or luxurious but it's enough to get the dirt and oils off me.

No body ever comes to this part of the woods anyways. After my so called bath I decided to actually and try and find food today. Meaning I would take time and go out for a hunt with my bow and arrows. I sat beneath a tall broad tree looking out in a clear pasture from the forest. Across there is a farm that nobody lives in.  20 mins pass still nothing.

However after 10 mins I saw a big creature with brown fur and horns. A bull I thought, although it looked quite big to be a bull. Soon as it came nearer and the longer I looked at it, I found out it was a minotaur. Just what I needed on this lovely morning.

Sooner or later I knew it would find my scent so I released an arrow hitting it in the shoulder giving away my position. Now the minotaur came charging straight towards me. I took out my bracelet that turned into a sword. What else would it be. As soon as the minotaur began to charge at me, I jumped up a tree seeing as they can't climb. This gave me an advantage with my arrows and being in a higher position.

Finally I jumped down and stabbed the minotaur in the back killing it. Soon it turned into dust and went away. Afterwards I heard two furrys from above. Why are there so many creatures all the sudden. Yesterday I killed about 3 of them as well. The furys stayed in the air circling not being able to get down due to the thickness of the trees. I stayed silent knowing they didn't know where I was and hoping they wouldn't find me.

Soon enough the furys went away. I really didn't want to go into the city but it seems thats te only way to get food now. I hid my bow and arrows in a tree bark before leaving. The city it only 2 miles away, 30 minute walk. Just as I was about to enter the city I got an iris message.

"Hey Peru where are you and what's going on?" Jayden asked me. "Going to get lunch, just outside the forest. Why?" I asked. "Stay there. Me and my dad are coming to get you," Jayden replied in a rush. "What? Why?" Come to think about it, he did look like he was in te back of a car now. "Well we've been having a lot of attacks lately and Jordan almost got his head cut off. So dad said he will be bringing us to this camp and he needs you to come along," Jayden replied.

"Is this a choice? What camp?" I started to ask but the mist was starting to disappear due to our time running low. "Uh explain when your in the car. Don't move till then. We'll come and get you," Jayden said and disappeared.

Well now for some more waiting I guess. A camp. It couldn't be the same one Luke and Thalia went to right? They both said they would come back to check on me or something but the last one to do that was Luke almost 7 months ago. He offered to take me somewhere, to resurrect someone. He said it would be a chance for me to get out and meet new people and that it would be better with me there. I told him no because I knew it wasn't the whole truth and at the time I didn't feel like going anywhere. Plus I was still mad at him for leaving.

Then a car pulled up and Jayden opened the car door for me. As soon as I got in he gave me a hug and continued on their way. "So where are we going?" I asked. "Camp Half-blood. It's a camp for people like you. You guys will love it there," Jayden's dad said from the drivers seat. "Camp half-blood eh?" I mumbled to myself. Luke warned me about that place I remember. Well I can defend myself if anything bad happens.

"Where is it?" I asked. "Long Island, New York. It's going to be an over-night drive. We'll probably get there mid-day the next morning," Jayden's dad said.

"Okay. Sorry to ask but do you have any food? I  wasn't able to catch lunch this morning," I asked. "Here's my left over burrito. Take if you want," Jayden said offering me a wrapped up egg sausage burrito. Better than nothing I suppose.

The next few hours consisted of driving and learning more about this camp. Somehow I did not have a good feeling at all about this camp.
