I watched their embrace, the way his arms wrapped around her shivering shoulders. The man's big brown eyes softened as she weeped into his shirt, begging his forgiveness. He smiled sadly and held her at arms length by the shoulders.
"I was worried about you Robyn," he whispered, close to tears himself, " if I lost you...and your mum, I would have never forgiven myself."
She could hardly breath she was crying so hard, her chest heaving.
"I'm...sorry...daddy," she cried.
He smiled up at us and shook our hands awkwardly, "thank you so much."
We smiled back, holding our melting ice-creams with embarrassment.
"Did these people help you angel?" he asked kindly.
She nodded and smiled, throwing her arms round Harry's neck.
"Prince Harry rescued me!" she cheered.
I shuffled away slightly, feeling like a three-wheeler standing so close to them. Robyn grinned at me and suddenly flung herself around my waist, hugging me tight. I felt awkward in her arms, but soon warmed up to her tubby little hands squeezing my back, "and princess Kristen!"
"Well say bye-bye to them then, we haven't finished our picnic yet," he said chucking.
She took her dad's hand and went off with him, looking over her shoulder to wave,
"Bye-bye Harry! Bye-bye Kristen!" she called, grinning sweetly.
We waved back and rescued our ice-creams which had started dripping down our hands.
"Since when were you so good with kids?" I asked, laughing as he licked his cone gingerly.
He shrugged his shoulders and grinned at my numb pink cheeks, pinching them gently.
" My boss' kid Lux loves me, she's like a wee rebel...for a two year old anyway," he said.
Lux was such an odd name, but there was something about it that seemed cute and sassy like Robyn.
"I like the sweet daddy side of you," I teased, Harry tickling me in the ribs,
"but I still like having you all to myself."
We walked back to his and sorted out the rest of my stuff, placing my perfume bottles and jewellery on his black dresser. His 1975 posters along with my quirky pieces seemed to fit nicely. He wrapped his hands round my waist, head rested on my shoulder as we gazed at the room for any imperfections.
"The room feels...cosier?" he said, unsure how to describe it.
And it did. It wasn't bare or too spacious anymore.
"I like it," I sighed.
The room was much bigger than my cute little hideaway back home...
"This is your home!" the little voice in the back of my head reminded me.
We treated ourselves to a takeaway, sharing a chow mein along with
Cart Dore ice cream and fortune cookies. I patted my stomach and groaned, scooping up my last mouthful of the strawberry goodness. Harry laughed and waved my fortune cookie in my face, forcing me to take it. I cracked it in half to reveal a slip of paper which held the "truth to my destiny." I laughed and collapsed into the cushions, scrunching it up in my hand.
"What? What does it say?" he asked curiously.
"Nope, not telling," I cried, burying deeper into the sofa.
He tickled me all over, trying to force me to tell him. I screamed and tried to push him away, my legs somehow wrapping round his hips. He laughed breathlessly into my mouth the taste of strawberries and cream tempting me. I kissed his lips, slipping my tongue in sneakily and pulling his hair. He moaned and squeezed me just below my bust,
"Now will you tell me?" he begged, giving me the puppy dog eyes.
"Hmm I suppose," I sighed, pushing him off me.
I flattened the creases out and cleared my throat before coming out with a strange deep voice.
"You will seek fame in the near future, wait patiently and you will get what you deserve," I read, laughing hysterically, "what does that even mean? I'm totally gonna be famous aren't I?"
He shrugged his shoulders and grinned,
"You never know?"
