I woke up to Harry sitting on the edge of my bed, stroking my hair softly. He smiled as I slowly opened my eyes, leaning in to kiss my lips briefly.

"Is that it?" I mumbled sleepily, pulling him in for a proper kiss.

He laughed and bit my bottom lip, rubbing my cheek gently.

"My bed felt empty without you in it last night," he said as I sat up, my hair like dandelion fluff.

I laughed softly, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.

"It was pretty rough without you too," I said truthfully.

Thank god I didn't have long left in here, I couldn't wait to get home. I needed fresh air.

"Ill take you outside for a bit," he said, clearly reading my mind," looks like you have cabin fever."

I smiled and got changed, pulling my hair into a messy bun before we left the room.

We strolled around the hospital gardens, Harry's thumb drawing small circles on my hand. My head started thumping slightly, my body breaking out in a sweat. I still wasn't quite right and had to sit down for a minute, Harry looking slightly paranoid

"I dreamt of him last night," I said to break the silence.

His eyebrows narrowed as I told him about Wendy coming in as I woke up screaming during the night, I couldn't cope without him for one night...what was I going to do when he left for uni?

"I'm sorry, I should have stayed last night," he said guiltily.

"It's not your fault," I sighed, "they practically had to pull you out."

He laughed softly and squeezed my hand, kissing my cheek.

"I'm gonna miss you," he whispered in my ear.

"I wish you didn't have to go," I said sadly.

He nodded and I leaned into him, resting my head on his shoulder. His arm wrapped around my shoulder, sighing quietly to himself.

A middle-aged woman in wheel chair appeared from inside the hospital, her head completely bald. She smiled at us and wheeled herself closer, Harry feeling tense under me.

"Morning," she said cheerfully.

"Morning," we replied, Harry forcing a smile.

"Just need to get out of there sometimes eh?" she sighed, sitting back in her chair.

I nodded, a thick cloud escaping from my mouth as I exhaled a long breath.

"So what's wrong with you?" she asked, " you look pretty healthy to me."

"Umm..."

I didn't know what to say to that. It was clear what was wrong with her and I felt so guilty for making a fuss over a stupid scratch on the back of my head, "had to get a stitch...crazy dad incident."

She made a face as if she understood, staring at the bleak white walls around us.

"Leukemia," she said, not sounding phased by her life-threatening disease.

I gasped, Harry's face turning pale. I wondered why he was getting himself so worked up, I felt bad for the woman too but he was totally freaking out.

"I'm sorry," I ended up saying sympathetically.

She chuckled to herself and smiled up at me,

"These things happen," she sighed,

"I'm Natalie, but call me Nat."

I smiled and shook her hand politely, Harrys face now tinted green,

"Kristen."

"I have to go-" he said rushing off into the hospital again.

I stared after him, Nat didn't seem to notice.

"I...I'm sorry, I don't know what's got into him," I stuttered.

"Go after him," she said, pointing in the direction he had gone.

"I'm sorry," I said again and ran off to find out what was going on.
