I arrived at Detroit at 4, just as Paul had told me. I was already in the car, with Paul, driving back home. The only thing that kept me from going absolutely insane right now was knowing that in just a few minutes I would be with my babies. They didn't know i was coming back early, and I didn't want to tell them, that way it would be a surprise. Just thinking about seeing them and being able to spend time with them today already started to put a smile on my face.

"Aye yo, can you put the radio on?" I yelled to the driver from the back seat, realizing the silence that had filled the car the whole ride home.

"Of course, Mr. Mathers" He politely answered back.

"Actually? Can you leave it off?" Paul asked going against me. He looked over at me and saw the look i was giving him and gave me an apologetic smile. "I have a headache, i'd rather some quiet. Plus, i think we've had enough of the media."

"Sure." I replied. It didn't really bother me. I only had a few more minutes, so i thought i'd close my eyes and just get some sleep within the 10 minutes i had until i got home.

Paul woke me up a bit later as we arrived in the driveway. I looked up at the house, feeling as if forever since i've been home. Knowing that my three favourite people in the world were in there made me forget about everything.

I walked out the car and grabbed my bag from the boot. "I'll come pick you up tomorrow morning for the interview." Paul said helping me get the bags out.

"Yeah, sounds good. Thanks, man" I said shutting the boot door.

"Alright, see you tomorrow." He said getting back into the car.

I sat on the front steps of the front door, under the cover so I was sure my girls wouldn't see me. I reached for my phone and called Hailie's number. After a few rings she finally picked up. They still didn't know I was coming home early and didn't expect me back until 3 weeks, earliest.

"Hey dad!" An excited Hailie said on the phone.

"Hi baby, are you home?" I asked.

"Yes, why?" She said curiously.

"I was just wondering, is Lainey and Whitney there you too?" I asked.

"Yeah, do you want me to get them?" She asked and i could hear her already walking to find them.

"Yeah, I wanna get all you on the phone." I replied.

"Ok, one sec." She said and i could hear her yelling out for the others.

"HI dad!" I heard the other two say on the phone. Just hearing their voice made my warm up inside.

"When are you coming home?" Whitney asked in her soft voice.

"Yeah, come back soon!" Alaina added.

"We miss you!" Hailie joined.

"Yeah, I miss you girls too! But I have a surprise for you, It's at the front door." I said as I stood up and waited in front of the door.

"Oohh, what is it?" Whitney asked excited.

"It's a surprise baby, i can't tell you." I replied in a laugh.

"Ok we're going down the stairs now to see it." Hailie said as I heard their footsteps coming closer and closer.

The door finally opened and their jaws dropped to the ground. "Dad!!!! They squealed as they all squeezed me in a hug.

"How come, you're here! You're meant to be in New York?" Whitney asked still holding the phone up to her ear.

"Whitney, Dad's right here. You don't need to talk to him over the phone, stupid."  Hailie said taking the phone away from her.
