I arrived at the after party, and entered throught the door where the party was being held. I walked in a few steps and then scanned the room looking for any familiar faces. Instantly, my mom and her date came rushing for me.
"Laurel!" She yelled out embracing me in a bear hug. "I'm so proud of you! You were amazing up there, I don't think i've ever seen you glow so bright! It was an incredible show." She said with a smile going from ear to ear.
I couldn't help but smile back "Thanks mom. I'm really glad you could make it and enjoyed it. Honestly, I was a little worried it would bore you." I said truthfully.
"Bore me? Are you kidding? How could I ever get bored of watching my baby girl live her dream!" She replied.
I gave her a thankful smile." So are you going to introduce me to your new friend?" I said gesturing to the tall, handsome man standing next to her, wearing a black tux, with a red tie, matching my mom's dress.
"Oh right!" She said taking a step back and quickly face-palming herself. "Laurel, i'd like you to meet George. George, this is my daughter, Laurel." She smiled gesturing her hands back and fourth between us.
He took out his hand and I shook it. "Laurel, it's a great pleasure to meet you! I've heared so many wonderful things about you, I feel as though I already know you." He said with a warming smile.
"I'm really too scared to find out what my mom's been saying about me, but its a pleasure to finally meet the man that's been putting a smile on my mom's face lately." I said.
My mom slightly blushed, and George let out a laugh. "Don't worry, no embarrassing stories were told but your mom's really the one who's been making me these days." He said glancing her a smile.
"He's also the biggest liar of all time." My mom replied giving him a friendly punch in the arm. "Anyways, I'll be out of your way and I'll let you talk with your friends and everyone else who wants to congratulate you." She said taking George by the hand and leading him off to get some drinks.
"Have fun." I called out and then noticed my dad and his family walking towards me with an unfamiliar younger guy walking beside them.
"Darling! You were fabulous tonight! You looked absolutely gorgeous in every one of those outfits." Happily said my dad giving me a kiss on each cheek.
"You were splendid, dear." Added my step mom, also giving me a hello kiss on each cheek.
"It was alright." Shrugged Tiffany, txting on her phone.
"Thanks, I'm really glad you could make it." I said with a smile.
"Wouldn't miss it for the world!" replied my dad. "Now sweetie, there is someone I would like you to meet. Laurel, this is David. David this is Laurel." He said slightly pushing the young quite handsome young man forward.
Just then it clicked. I've been so caught up in everything, I almost forgot dad was bringing me a "date" for tonight. I quickly checked him out. He was tall, had scruffed up blonde hair, blue eyes, and slightly tanned skin with a muscular figure. He definitely hit a 10, but since he knew my dad, his attitude was probably a 1.
"Hi, it's a pleasure to meet you." He said letting out his hand and I immediately noticed a British accent. Make that an 11 out of 10.
"Pleasure to meet you too. Are you brittish?" I asked shaking his hand.
"Yes, I actually just moved here from London 2 years a go." He said with a slight smile.
"Oh, very cool." I said nodding my head.
