Can I still breathe

I love you
I love you so so much
From the second we met
Just that one touch

It lit me up
Inside and out
You saw me for me
And were true about what you felt

It was a connection
It was you I needed
And I knew that
By the time we were seated

Together we were
Sitting all alone
Wanting to get to know each other
And we hit it off like a cyclone

Just like that
Feelings twirled
Our hearts joined together
They were swirled

Now I know
Why they name people after hurricanes
They can tear you apart and destroy you
But we're still up in the sky like airplanes

The tension was raw
And it scattered through the room
The eye contact so direct
We thought we were in doom

How do we tell each other
Should we
Why ruin the moment
Isn't this how it's supposed to be

Then of course
Things don't ever last
Others came into the room
And the moment ended fast

But that wasn't over
There was still hope
We were gonna be together
Without each other we would mope

We wanted to be together
Even when I went away
You'd always find a way
Even if it was a dragon you would have to slay

Just like any old fairy tale
You were the prince
And I the princess
I hadn't forgotten that since

When we saw each other
We'd grow stronger
Our feelings reimbursed
Each time we hugged longer

We worried
What if that was the last time
What if that was it
That would be a crime

How would I breathe
Would we make it
It would be big if that was the last time we ever saw each other
But we'd take the hit

Good would come out of it
It wouldn't change us
Our feelings would remain the same
There wouldn't no fuss
