As Billy ran along after Kelly, he couldn't help but stop and look back towards the portal at the limo. John was still sitting in there with his hands folded. He looked back up at Billy. He looked completely sad but still managed to force a half smile and a nod at Billy.
"Aren't you coming?" Billy asked concerned.
"Nah I'll be okay."
"No seriously John, come on. I thought it was supposed to be the three of us."
"Well Kelly seems to think it's fine with just you two."
"John don't be like that. You know she doesn't think that. It isn't the same without you."
"Okay, whatever. I'll catch up to you two."
"Alright, Hurry up John. I don't want you to like.. die in here. We still don't know what might happen."
"Alright Billy, go ahead I'll catch up." John said with another nod as he pushed up his glasses. Billy looked at him still looking worried, but he turned slowly and ran to catch up to super excited Kelly. John watched him run away and his smile quickly faded. He was so angry he almost screamed. But he couldn't let them know that. He started digging his nails into his hands until he felt a trickle of blood run down his knuckle and he quickly let go and looked down.
