As Kelly lay there in pain all that ran through her mind was "Why?" But she couldn't dwell on her pitiful friend for too long. Instead she turned her head and peered at the advancing crowd of rainbow dwarves. The end of her life which was so short. She couldn't believe it. Especially the fact that she was being betrayed by both of her closest friends. It couldn't be true, couldn't be real.
Suddenly her eyes opened wide with excitement and sudden realization. "It's not real!" Kelly shouted. She then began to crawl toward the wall dragging her injured leg across the ground. She whimpered as she struggled to pull herself up. Once she was on her feet she huffed and shouted to John. "It's not real!"
"Oh what are you talking about Kelly? Just lay down and die will ya?" John said with annoyance. "And don't worry about Billy, I'll get him later."
"It's not real." Kelly said one last time to herself. She then began jumping up and down on her good leg.
"Kelly what the jellybeans are you doing?"
Kelly then stops jumping and shuffles left two steps, then right two steps. She appeared to be doing a weird dance. Or a tribal ritual.
As she continued this sequence of weird movements the rainbow colored dwarves were advancing rapidly. Luckily John had spawned them far enough across the neverending room that Kelly had time to dance before her death.
Finally, Kelly swung her arm, kicked, then repeated two more times. Then she jumped one last time and when her feet connected with the ground the army of dwarves completely disappeared. However another pain shot up her injured leg, she then smiled and collapsed proud of herself.
"I did it. Oh I'm so happy that worked!" She shouted with excitement.
"What did you do?! Where is my army?! Why aren't they chopping you up into sushi rolls?!" John was shouting obviously furious. He opened the sphere and began typing again.
Kelly saw this and scrambled back to her feet. She started moving in another weird tribal dance again. Finally she kicked, punched, and jumped. This time when she hit the ground her leg was completely fine, no longer bleeding, and there wasn't even a scar. No evidence of her even being hurt in the first place. Suddenly her body was flashing green.
"Oh yes!" Kelly shouted again. John was now looking at her with anger and slight fear in his eyes. Kelly then began advancing toward John clenching her fists and her lips stretching into a devious grin.
"Oh, no you don't." John said as he looked back down to the sphere and finished typing. When he finished the army of dwarves was back and was pouring out from behind him running at Kelly who showed no signs of fear.
As the dwarves ran at her their knives cut through the air rapidly and finally one reached Kelly and took a swing. But when the knife connected with Kelly it broke and disintegrated. The now weaponless dwarf tried to punch Kelly, again when his hit connected he completely disappeared. Kelly continued staring into John's eyes as she continued on. One by one the dwarves lashed out at her and all had the same fate, they touched Kelly and her glowing body and they turned to pixelated mist. As John watched his army and it's futile attempt at defeating this now Super Kelly he began to rethink his decision. He gripped the sphere tightly in his hands, turned around and darted.
"Oh, no you don't!" Kelly shouted. She then bolted through the last bit of the crowd of dying dwarves and towards John. In less than a minute she had grabbed him by the shirt and was holding him loosely. "Where ya going sweetums? I thought you wanted us to be closer." With that Kelly snatched John's arm and pinned it behind his back, then she kicked him in the back of the knee so he collapsed and she knelt down behind him.
"How did you catch me? How did you heal?" John shouted with more fear in his voice than he had wanted.
"Two words buddy boy. Cheat. Codes." Kelly spoke softly and smugly into John's ear.
"So you cheated." John said flatly.
"What?"
"You cheated."
"What do you mean I cheated. They don't put cheat codes into video games and not expect them to be used. If it were programmed into the game you can use it."
"No. It's in the name cheat codes. Not helper codes."
"Well. Well you used the round laptop to help you! That's cheating!"
"No it's not."
"Yes it is. That thing wasn't programmed into the game so you cheated."
"No, I don't think I did."
"Well you did."
"And how do you figure?"
"I just said, it wasn't programmed into the game, so it's not supposed to be here, so you cheated."
"Yeah, but the it isn't called a cheat object. You used cheat, codes. Again. It's in the name."
"You're missing the point."
"I think you're missing my point where I say, you cheated Kelly."
"No I didn't. They're in the game for a reason, and that's that." Kelly said finally and dismissively. She then felt John relax in her arms as if all the fight was out of him. He usually did this when he didn't want to wrestle with her anymore or he was done playing and just wanted to chill out. Again she remembered she was about to beat the crap out of her best friend. With that final thought Kelly loosens her grip on John, lets him go and they both stand up.
"I'm sorry Kelly." John said hanging his head.
"Don't worry about it John. Just don't be such a pansy next time we find alien technology and this won't happen again." Kelly said with a slight smile. She opened her arms and John hugs her tightly. Too tightly.
"No no Kelly. I think you misunderstood me." John then lets go of Kelly, but she still feels like she's being constricted. "I'm not sorry for what I did. I'm sorry because I tried to beat you at your own game." John then smiled and motioned downward with his eyes.
"What the triple chocolate fudge chip muffins are you talking about John?" Kelly asks angrily. She then looks down to see she is chained to the ground, and when she looked back up John was happily tapping away at the sphere.
