Jack had, as he said, healed before the day had a chance to end. He tore the bandage from his head the moment he saw himself in the mirror, seeing the gash replaced with healed over flesh. His concussion passed by, and the bruises and small cuts that had littered his stomach were completely healed over with his pale skin. Felix had gained nothing from that attack, only the general reminder that he was a creepy bastard.
Well, maybe the meatball motherfucker did gain something. After what happened, Jack had the overwhelming feeling that that was only the beginning of the end for...something. Jack hated that feeling, but the only thing he could replace with the resistless feeling of being hunted down was Mark. Cliche enough.
Waking up from a losing fight would usually end up being Jack drowning in his defeat. This time, he was woken up to brown, beautiful eyes that raked over his body in the most adoring way possible. Something in Mark's eyes drawn Jack to him, sucking him in like a black hole. That was probably why they were dark, Mark had absorbed all the light into the world and transferred it into his bubbly personality. Those eyes had a sense of home; a sort of comfort that Jack hadn't had in forever.
Jack didn't forget that his shirt had been removed, which made a small part of Jack self-conscious. Mark had seen him without his shirt off and Jack didn't even know. What if he judged him for the dark hairs that were covering his torso, unlike Mark's bare body? Thought he was weak because of the bruises?
"You seem kind of outta it, your concussion still there?" Mark cut into his thoughts, worrying flooded throughout his almond eyes.
"No, no concussion. Just thinkin'." Jack gave him a reassuring smile, along with a kiss on the cheek. This gesture made Mark's heart flutter, blushing furiously.
"Well, stop thinkin'. It's making me concerned about your health." Mark joked, grabbing onto Jack's hand to hold it.
"It's weird seein' t'is. Seein' you. T'is is s'weird. I need t'stop thinkin' about it. I never thought I would be datin' such an amazin' guy like you, Mark. My own fuckin' roommate. This is so fuckin' weird." Jack rambled on.
"Are you going through an existential crisis, Jackaboy? Should I actually call 911 this time?" Jack chuckled at Mark's concern, deciding to adjust his body to sit upright. He was fully healed now, all the brown and purple had disappeared from his chest and stomach. He mentally thanked his powers to do the healing for him, then getting up to get his day started.

Jack finally had his first normal day in weeks, actually going to class, sitting down, and taking notes. This new change made his mood change, switching into a driven by college mode. He sat idly, paying attention to each teacher, no matter how boring some things they said were. Tuning into Mr. Muyskens speech about film, Mr. Patrick's rambling about how Luigi is a secret killer, (which had nothing to do with Environmental Art, but who's complaining?) and all in all, his day was normal as ever.
Classes ended later that day, bringing Jack to the realization of how tired he had gotten over the hours. Once he got to his dorm, he collapsed on his bed, legs dangling off the edge with books spilled around him. Mark had texted him saying that he would be back in the next hour. That gave Jack enough time to do extra work, because he knew once Mark got here, there would be no work getting completed.
Jack flipped open his Quantum Mechanics book, picking up a pencil and beginning to write answers and notes. He had gotten most of it finished, until a knock at the door interrupted his work.
"Babe you have the key, come on in." Jack said, dropping his head back down to his work.
"It's Ryan. I uh- I don't really have a key." Ryan responded through the wood, making Jack raise an eyebrow. He picked up on the change of Ryan's cheerful voice, shrugging it off as nothing. He jumped off the bed, swinging the door open for his friend. The smile fell from his face from what he saw.
