Mark had slept next to Jack before, with his muscular arms curled around his waist. Last time Jack didn't feel much, but this time he knew there was something there. The feeling Mark was giving him felt like something he hadn't felt before. His chest was knotted up, his heart was swollen, and his eyes nearly watered with all the affection he was feeling.

Jack couldn't resist looking at his almond eyes each time Mark was giving him his full attention. Then there was the way he rolled up the sleeves to his elbows, and covered his hands to his fingertips when he got cold. How he would hum Disney songs under his breath while doing homework, or any type of work in particular.

Every about Mark Fischbach, basically.

From his tousled hair, to his even breaths, even down to that weird ass thing he could do with his feet, Jack loved every part of Mark.

Jack felt him stir from behind, his leg shifting around. Mark hummed in content, pressing his face into Jack's back more. He felt Mark's breaths through his shirt, making Jack want to fall asleep all over again to stay in this bed with Mark, but stay awake to be able to feel him.

He rolled around, forcing himself to stare at Mark. The American had something to him, a sense of security in those deep, brown eyes. Even with his glasses off, his new boyfriend looked dashing. He inspected each small part of his face, like how there was a barely visible mole above his right eye.

Jack took the responsibility to kiss that mole.

This made Mark's eyes flutter open, but he didn't have much for eyelashes to 'flutter.' When Mark saw Jack's face, when he registered that it was indeed Jack, a huge smile spread across his face.

"Sorry if I totally just weirded you out." Jack whispered, laughing quietly (and nervously).

"No, no it's fine." Mark's smile didn't falter, nor did he look weirded out. In fact, he leaned forward to steal a kiss from him. It was Jack's turn to hum happily, pushing himself closer.

They lie next to each other like that for minutes passing, before Jack scooted out of the bed. Mark threw the duvet off of him, letting it fall wherever. He was wearing a skin tight black t-shirt, which grabbed at Jack's favorite curves and edges. He must have been staring because suddenly Mark was flexing his muscles, making Jack's mouth go dry, but at the same time want to punch him in the head for being a tease.

Jack swore he saw him smirk when he turned around.

Mark had insisted on walking Jack to their web design. The second they walked out of their dorm, Mark had reached over and grabbed Jack's hand. Jack immediately let him.

Jack was still used to using the path to go to Matt and Ryan's dorm, and for the next few days, Mark had to lead Jack to their dorm because he would continue to go to their dorm. He got used to going to his actual dorm after a few days, telling the boys that he and Mark had made up, but didn't mention the fact that they did more then make up (more like make out.) Mark said he wanted to tell them together, since it wasn't just them saying they were in a relationship, it was finally explaining their sexualities to their friends.

They did that as soon as they could, which Jack ultimately decided as two days after they started dating. Doing that part wasn't difficult one bit, because when they announced it, Ryan pulled $20 out of his back pocket to hand to Matt.

"You guys were betting on this the whole time!?" Mark yelled, laughing afterward.

"Okay, but it was totally fair. I'm pretty sure this whole floor thought you two were gay." Matt defended his argument, which earned a punch in the arm from Jack.

"You guys are always punchin' me." He mumbled, all while rubbing his arm.

While they walked back to their dorm, a light bulb formed above Jack's head.

"I bet ya $20 that Ryan will admit his obvious love for Matt in the next two weeks." He mentioned as Mark swung their arms down the hallway.

"Oh hell yeah. I bet it will happen three weeks from today. Sometime that week." Mark rolled his eyes, shaking Jack's hand, even though he was swinging it the whole time.

Mark's hand was another thing that Jack definitely did not take for granted. It wasn't completely soft, it was rough. His hands were warm, but never too hot, which made it perfect for Jack because somehow his hands would never get warm. He liked the way that Mark would absentmindedly rub his across the back of Jack's hand. He loved when he would bring his hand up to kiss it, then proceeding to kiss Jack's lips.

Jack almost never slept in his own bed, even a week after they were dating. Ryan hadn't admitted his love that Jack believed he had for Matt, and he only had a week before time was up.

"I miss our old window." Mark mentioned as Jack was typing away on his laptop. He rested his chin in the palm of his hand to think for a moment.

"Yeah, I guess I'd hav'ta agree with you."

"We got to see almost all of Cincinnati, and this window only shows a corner of it." Mark continued.

"Well, the air doesn't smell that great anyway, babe." Jack added, looking at his boyfriend with admiration.

"Oh, shut up. It was still pretty to look at." Mark moved away from their now tiny window, going over to his dresser to pull out pajamas. Jack was surprised he hadn't skipped the whole t-shirt situation at night yet.

Mark rummaging through their dresser was his national symbol of "half of me is tired and the other half just wants to cuddle up next to you." The Irishman closed his laptop shut, walking over to dresser next to Mark. He plucked his own choice of clothes out, turning around to change his outfit.

Minutes passed, and Jack slid in next to Mark. He rested his head on the red-head's chest, listening to the steady pace of his heartbeat. This had him falling asleep in seconds.

-

The fight went on, blood dripping everywhere and fists flying through the air. Mark was kicking, punching, yelling at his enemy, all while trying to keep his eye on his most precious thing in the world. Jack looked okay currently, his speed was giving him a great advantage. Of course, Mark had his own type of advantage, pummeling Wade into the ground. He was quite persistent with this battle, even though he was on the ground, Wade would refuse to back down. He took his eyes off of Wade for a split second, and Mark wished he hadn't.

Jack was bleeding from his head, blood trickling down his cheek. It was mixed with a tear as someone delivered their last blow, sending Jack flying to the ground, eyes open in fear. Sadness. Jack hit the ground hard enough for him to let out a groan of pain, sending Mark running to help him. He tried to scream, shout, anything, but his throat was choked up. All he could do was let his eyes drip tears. He skidded down next to him, weeping over his body.

"J-Jack?" He cried, somehow getting one name out with his clogged throat. He positioned Jack's body in his lap, moving the hair that was stuck to his forehead behind his ear.

"Mark?"

"I'm right here, it's gonna be okay. You're gonna be okay." Mark looked up to make sure his enemy was gone, but he had left like he was never there in the first place.

More tears were forming in his bright, blue eyes, only making Mark cry harder.

"Mark. Mark Fischbach." Jack cried as he reached up to touch Mark's cheek, wiping a stray tear away with his thumb.

"I'm sorry." Was the last thing Jack breathed out.

-

A loud-high pitched shrill released from none other than Mark's throat was lurched out, making him double over in tears. Jack was instantly awake, from the disturbance next to him. Mark was still screaming, grabbing onto his shirt, nearly ripping it from his chest. Jack was quick to act, pulling his arms away from clawing at his chest to pull him into a hug. His screams died down into sobs, now clutching at the back of Jack's shirt. His boyfriend hushed him, rocking him back and forth.

"I'm right here, shh. It's gonna be okay. You're okay."

That only made Mark cry harder.
