REYNA LET OUT a sigh and picked up her fork. "How long can I stay here?" Reyna asked her parents as she stuck her fork into her salad.
"How long do you wanna stay here?" Reyna's dad asked her with a raised brow. He was more than aware of everything that had been going on with his daughter as of lately, and he, like her mother, agreed that she just needed some time away from the hectic aspect of her celebrity life. He was glad she had decided to take that time and spend it with him and her mom as well.
Reyna let out a sigh and shoved a forkful of salad into her mouth. "How about forever?"
Reyna's mom chuckled. "As much as I wouldn't mind that, it's not exactly something I would encourage. You can't run away from your problems forever, Rey."
"Why can't I?" Reyna frowned, playing with the lettuce on her plate.
"Because you're thirty-two years old with a career and a life to tend to," her mom answered her seriously.
Reyna shook her head and looked up at her parents. "You see, I've found that my life is shit without Sebastian, so I really don't have much of a life to tend to at the moment."
Her mom scoffed. "You are such an idiot."
"Have you tried talking to him?" her dad asked.
Reyna nodded. "He won't answer my calls or my texts."
"But you didn't cheat on him, Reyna," her mom exclaimed. "I know you would never do such a thing. And the fact that he compared you to Margarita really pisses me off—I never liked her."
"You made it very known, mother," Reyna laughed quietly. "But I know. He just won't listen to anybody, not Chad, not Anthony, not me. I don't know what to do."
Her dad laughed and shoved a forkful of his salad into his mouth. "I might just be a dick, but I think it's funny how you two broke up the night after you lost it to him. It's like you're a teenager again. . .but in your thirties."
Reyna shook her head at her dad, while her mom nearly choked on her food. "Thank you for your kind words, father."
"I thought I told you not to bring that up," her mom scolded him.
Her dad simply shrugged and continued eating his salad. "If you didn't want me bringing it up, you shouldn't have told me about it. You know how I am."
"Unfortunately," Reyna murmured, pushing her plate away from her and standing up. "I'm going to go wallow in self pity and then I'm gonna go to sleep."
"Why would you wanna do that?" her dad asked her.
Reyna shrugged and moved towards the kitchen exit. "Why wouldn't I? Goodnight, guys. I love you both so much."
She took off for her old bedroom before her parents had the time to respond and plopped down in bed. She tried desperately to go to sleep, but with Sebastian on her mind she couldn't. She just wanted him back, and it was the very thought of not having him that kept her up each night, and it would until she was once again able to hold him in her arms at night.
