Chapter 2 ~ The Feast

Mitali looked around her table. Gryffindor seemed like a nice house, even though she had wanted Hufflepuff.

She sat next to Rose Granger-Weasley, daughter of the famous Hermione Granger, Minister of Magic. Being friends with her might get Mitali through the year with excelling grades. After all, Mitali's main duty was to save her family. Siya didn't think like that too, which added to her reasons for being mad at her sister.

All this time, Mitali thought that Siya was trying to get her best grades. Right now, she seemed like an average student who isn't trying her hardest. Mitali's mind was filled with determination. She would do anything to succeed. Well, except cheating.

Mitali turned to her right and put her hand out. "Hi, I'm Mitali," She introduced herself to Rose.

"I'm Rose... I bet you know that already though," She replied with a hint of annoyance on her face.

"Yeah, everyone's saying you, Albus, and Scorpious are going to be the next 'Golden Trio'," Mitali commented. Rose nodded.

"It's a lot of pressure on me. But for right now, I'm glad I'm in Gryffindor," Rose said. Mitali nodded in response.

"You probably have a lot of support from all your cousins and your brother though." Mitali responded.

"I guess. Do you have any siblings or cousins here?" Rose asked Mitali.

"My sister, Siya, she's a fourth year." Mitali told her with a bit of bitterness in her tone. She pointed  to her sister down the table.

"Ah." She replied. Then Mitali noticed the Japanese girl walking towards her.

"Minari! What are you doing here?" Siya's friend said, pulling Mina into a hug.

"I came to see how Mitali is doing." Mina replied, smiling at Mitali. Great, more interaction with her new friends.

"Thanks," Mitali replied. "Gryffindor seems cool."

"Good. Although Slytherin is going to dominate quidditch!" Mina replied. Rose's face hardened, right, her father had been on the quidditch team and a lot of her cousins were on it now.

"Are not!" Siya and Sana said at once.

"I see I'm not welcome here. I'll talk to you later Mitali. I am going to see Fiona, Willow, Fermin and Name." She said, ignoring the fourth years. Mina then turned her conversation to Sana, talking in Japanese. Mitali turned back to Rose.

"So, your friend is a Slytherin?" She asked.

"Yes. She's really nice though." Mitali answered.

"I didn't mean that I have anything against them. My cousin Lucy is one and so is Albus and his new friend Scorpius, I was just asking." She assured Mitali. Suddenly Mitali wondered why she had gotten so protective over her new friends.

"Ok," She said.

"But she was wrong about Slytherin winning. Going to be Gryffindor for sure," Rose commented, grinning.

"Definitely!" Mitali cheered.

"Are you going to try out for the team?" Rose asked.

"Yeah, I want to be the seeker," Mitali answered. Rose said she wanted to be a chaser. Mitali smiled and nodded in response.

This girl might just lead her to getting excelling grades. Even though Mitali didn't really want friends, making one friend from her house wasn't that bad, right? Plus, Rose was going to help her.

As Fermin and Willow enter the dorms of Ravenclaw their eyes pop out. It is as impressive as the stories told about it. "This is awesome isn't it Willow!"

"Yeah, but wait till you see all the pigs you'll be staying with!" Willow chirps as she starts for the girls' bed area.

Once inside the boy's dormitory a horrible, atrocious smell fills Fermin's lungs, throwing him into a coughing fit. "I hope Cecil is doing better than me," Fermin thinks aloud.

"What was that?" Asks a boy with powdery white hair and jet black, welcoming eyes. "Sorry if I didn't introduce myself properly, I'm Ulf, my brother over there is Wulf."

"Is your name Skandian by any chance?" Inquires Fermin.

"Why yes, how'd you know?" Ulf says startled, as everyone gets his name's origins wrong.

"Well my twin brother, err, let's just say he researches a lot of things," Fermin shrugs.

"Well, let's get you comfortable! You can have the bed next to us!"

"It's quite beautiful!" Fiona remarks, entering the huge doors of Hufflepuff.

Name only utters a soft wow under his breath.

"Hey newcomers, make yourselves at home!" Shouts a fourth year from the back while lounging peacefully on a yellow couch.

"See ya!" Name says to Fiona before bounding off to the boys dorm.

While setting his stuff down, a small picture of Trinity (Fermin's real sister) pops out of Name's luggage.

"Is that your girlfriend?" says a voice from the bunkbed above Name.

"I wish! But how do I tell my best friend I'm in love with his sister?" Name says looking at the picture quickly before storing it back in his pocket.

"Good point. I'm Hal by the way; Hal Mikkelson. Or Hal the Pal. Or that random guy who loves to invent," the stranger says.

"It's always good to have more friends right? I'm Name Paix by the way," Name said stealing a glance at his photo of Trinity before lying in his bed.
