Hi, everyone! I have a few words before this chapter starts, so bear with me~!

For starters, the beginning of this chapter is written in past-tense, merely because Kristopher is thinking about the rest of his day rather than actually going through it. Just telling you all this so that you all don't get confused!

Secondly, I literally spent my entire day writing this chapter, which is probably why it's so long. I hope that doesn't turn you guys off lmao. But I promise it's worth it! I'm sure you'll all be smiling towards the end. 😉

And yeah, I'm still high off of the fact that we've reached 1k. I love you guys so much, and hopefully you all love this chapter! 💖

Happy reading~!

I spent the rest of my school day in . . . relative happiness, surprisingly enough.

PE went by pretty quickly. Coach had us spend half of the period doing typical, workouts - such as jumping-jacks and push-ups - and the other half letting us do whatever we wanted. I excelled at the warm-up exercises, mainly because I spend a lot of time doing them at home. Not only does it relieve the stress that comes with being Kristopher Simmons, but it also keeps my body looking fit and healthy.

"You're pretty good at this," Justin even said while we were running tracks around the gymnasium. With his black hair matted to his forehead, and his white T-shirt clung to his body with sweat . . .

Attractive is a very, very grave understatement as to how he looked.

I grinned a little in response, trying not to take the compliment to heart. But of course, I did, and it filled my entire body with satisfying warmth. Another advantage of being used to exercising; Justin Reynolds' approval. It makes me extraordinarily happy to be seen as anything less than a loser - by anyone.

It's no secret that I have absolutely zero talents. Ava is extremely smart, perfect at giving advice, and one of the best volleyball players at this school. Tyrese, too, is extremely talented at playing a plethora of musical instruments. Even my younger sister, Kloe, is great at persuading people to do things for her.

And then there's me . . . A crass, self-deprecating trashcan of a person.

But I totally don't need to focus on those negatives. Not now.

Another major milestone of PE was Ava and Justin's meeting. They were pretty cordial to each other, and it went by exactly as I predicted. Ava being pleasant and urbane and totally perfect, while Justin was perfect in his own way by joking and teasing and being his typical flawless self. It occurred to me, then, that Justin is a pretty impish guy, as well as being the perfect conversationalist.

He can probably make friends with Lucifer himself.

. . . I wouldn't be surprised if he already did. Justin Reynolds is simply quintessential.

Strangely enough, though, Ava was very reserved during PE. Maybe it was because of how I shrugged her off in History? I don't know . . . but there was just something in her eyes that didn't look completely pleased.

Justin even noticed it, because while we were changing back into our regular clothes, he remarked, "I don't think Ava likes me very much."

I gave him a confused look. "What? Why do you say that?"
