Allison stood over her bed, 15 minutes were left until the Purge started.
She looked at the outfit that she had picked out for the long night ahead, a black leather jacket with a black tank top underneath it, green army skinny jeans and black combat boots. Her black wavy hair fell over her shoulders perfectly. Allison walked over and picked up her quiver, placing enough arrows inside of it in case they ran into danger.
She placed the quiver over her shoulder, grabbing her black shooting glove she placed it on. It covered her thumb, index, and middle finger the rest of the leather covered the front and the palm of her hand from her wrist to her knuckles. Footsteps approached Allison's room, "It's time to go." Leo said through the other side of the door.
Quickly looking at the picture of her and her brother Allison opened the door, "I'm ready, let's do this." She said while closing the door. "Let's go get him." The two walked to the black car outside of the apartment. Once they reached the car Leo grabbed the duffle bag that contained guns inside of it and put it in the trunk of the car.
He walked back to the front of the car, closing the door he turned on the engine. Allison sat next to him looking out the window, as Leo drove off away from the apartment and onto the streets of Los Angeles. As they drove pass stores Allison saw that most of the small shops were closed up with thick metal, others simply had wood nailed onto them.
Those who could afford paying for insurance were safe from the purge and those who couldn't would have to pray for a miracle so that their lives could be spared. Allison had no doubt that the purge eliminated the poor, it was unfair and inhumane. In a couple of years the next election would take place and she hoped deep in her heart that there would be someone who could put an end to this night, someone who thought the same way that she did.
As Leo drove through the city a familiar announcement blared through the radio and through Los Angeles.
"This is not a test. This is your Emergency Broadcast System announcing the commencement of The Annual Purge sanctioned by the US Government. Weapons of Class 4 and lower have been authorized for use during the Purge. All other weapons are restricted. Government officials of ranking 10 have been granted immunity...Commencing at the siren, any and all crime, including murder, will be legal for 12
continuous hours. Police, fire and emergency medical services will be unavailable until tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. when the Purge concludes. Blessed be our New Founding Fathers, and America, a nation reborn. May God be with you all."The announcement ended and the sirens blared through the empty city, turning Allison's stomach and giving her a queasy feeling. She closed her eyes and let out a small sigh trying to relax. But no one could really relax when you're out on the streets looking for the man who killed your brother and put you in a coma for 6 months. Allison remembered everything that happened that tragic day, it lingered in her memory, haunting her each and everyday of her life.

It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, birds were chirping, it seemed like the perfect day. Allison waved to her friends as she walked out of her highschool, she went her way going to pick up her little brother. Luckily for her his school was only two blocks away from her school but three blocks away from their house. Once Allison arrived at the school grounds her brother jumped into her arms.
