"Look." Cali said snapping Leo out of his thoughts. "Purging, no matter what the reason, is wrong. Killing doesn't help anything. It doesn't heal someone."
"Enough. Enough. Go back with your mommy. Go." Leo ordered, annoyance present in his voice. Cali rolled her eyes at him before walking with her mother.
Thoughts from before raced back into Leo's head, he suddenly realized that they were out on the most deadly night of the year. While he was out and about protected wearing a bullet proof vest Allison had no protection other than her bow and arrows but that could only do so much. Leo came to a stop, he put his rifle down and his bag of guns on the platform. The group behind him stopped as he took off his jacket and his vest.
"Dad what are you doing?" Allison asked sternly.
"Put this on." Leo said. He held the vest out with his hands waiting for Allison to grab it, but of course she didn't.
"I don't need that." Allison stated as she crossed her arms.
"Yes you do put it on."
"I said I don't need it." She said once again. She wasn't going to take no for an answer she knew she could protect herself.
"I can't loose you like I lost your bother, not again. Please put it on." Leo said softly.
Allison's heart softened, her father was only being like this because he didn't want to loose her. He already had lost his son, he wasn't prepared to loose his only daughter and his last surviving child. Allison grabbed the vest, she took off her quiver and bow and placed the vest over her black shirt. She slid her quiver on again and her bow.
"Now, hopefully, you won't need it." Leo said while putting his jacket back on. The group continued to walk. But it wasn't far before they heard a noise coming from the inside of the walls of the Subway station.
"What was that?" Liz asked. Leo took out his flash light and looked between the walls. Allison caught a glimpse, it was just a group of homeless people trying to survive the horrible night.
"There's no threat. They're just trying to make it through the night. Keep moving." Leo said.
The group was cut off, they heard the sound of an engine and wheels running through the gravel of the station making their heads snap to the direction it was coming from. Screams of victory echoed through the tunnel, two jeeps made their way towards them.
"Oh, shit!" Shane exclaimed.
"Move! Go! Come on!" Allison told the group as she started to run. "Run! Move! Move!" Leo yelled. The group ran as fast as they could. Allison was in the front and her father followed her, running next to her as the others followed.
The sound of bullets echoed in the tunnel. Everyone ran as fast as their two legs could take them, their breathing became heavier, hearts beat quickly, a tightness in everyone's lungs formed as their body begged for more precious oxygen. Eva came to a stop as she fell to the ground everyone stopped.
"Get up! Get up! Come on! Get up, get up, get up!" Leo said as he pointed his rifle to the group of killers making their way towards them in the jeeps.
"Mom, we have to go right now!" Cali exclaimed. Although Eva remained on the ground, a shocked expression on her face.
"Move it, move it! Move! Go, go!" Allison told her father. Leo slid his arm under the crook of Eva's legs and he slid another under her back picking her bridal style.
Leo and Cali took of running but Allison didn't, she stayed with Liz and Shane, knowing what they were thinking. "Allison come on let's go." Leo said.
