The whole team left the locker room to head back to their dorms, except Tobin and Alex. Alex decided to take a quick shower, as best as she could, in the locker room instead of walking back to their dorm. Tobin stayed and made sure Alex was okay.
"You sure you don't need any help? I mean, I don't mind coming in there," Tobin said with a smirk.
"Tobin Heath, where are your manners?" Alex shouted through the curtains.
"I would ask for help if I were you."
Alex rolled her eyes even though Tobin could not see her, "You really lost your mind, haven't you?"
"Hey, that's not something to joke about, but that was funny," Tobin said while laughing.
Alex was done showering and tried her best to get her clothes on. Although it was painful, Alex managed to get fully dressed and was ready to go.
"I guess you didn't need help after all."
"Maybe in the future," Alex winked.
As they were walking to Tobin's car to head to the hospital, they saw the Stanford soccer team heading into their bus. Christen and Kelley were walking all the way in the back and saw Tobin and Alex heading their way.
"Oh no," Alex said.
"Just ignore them," Tobin responded while intertwining her hand with Alex's.
Christen looked at Kelley, "I feel like I should talk to them."
"Why? They're just going to act like the victims, especially Alex," Kelley responded.
"I feel like I should be the bigger person. We should be the bigger people and apologize."
"I have nothing to apologize for," Kelley said while crossing her arms.
"You broke her arm," Christen responded.
"She made your nose bleed."
Christen rolled her eyes. "You both used to be best friends. Don't you want that friendship back?"
Kelley stopped to think and looked at Alex. They were best friends since middle school. She wasn't going to let an argument ruin their friendship. She decided to be the bigger person.
"Fine, let's go talk to them."
Christen smiled and gave Kelley a kiss on the cheek. "Tell the bus they can go; we can call a taxi to take us back or something."
Tobin and Alex noticed Christen and Kelley walking their way and both looked at each other with a strange face.
"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Tobin asked.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Alex asked back.
"They're coming to beat us up, aren't they?"
Tobin tightened her grip on Alex's hand as Christen and Kelley approached them.
"Can we help you?" Alex asked in disgust.
Christen nudged Kelley to signal her to speak.
"Um, how's your arm?" Kelley asked nervously.
"Broken, thanks to you," Alex responded.
"You broke Christen's nose."
"It wasn't my fault. It was a clean tackle, unlike yours. At least I didn't get a red card."
Kelley rolled her eyes, "Look, I didn't come here to pick a fight. We came here to apologize."
Tobin and Alex looked at each other and then Kelley with a strange look.
"I can't lose my best friend, especially you, Al," Kelley said.
"I don't want to lost my best friend either," Alex said while giving Kelley a hug with her good arm, "I'm sorry I wasn't being a good friend. I'm happy for you, I really am. I'm sorry for everything, Kel, you're my best friend."
Kelley tightened her grip on Alex, "I'm sorry too, for everything."
Tobin quickly looked away once she saw Christen looking at her.
"Um, as much as it is good to make up and what not, maybe we should get these two to the hospital since they're a little broken," suggested Tobin.
Kelley nodded in agreement and linked her arm with Alex's good arm.
"We're so getting you back the next time we play you," Kelley said.
"In your dreams," both Alex and Tobin responded.
Just a short chapter explaining what happens after the game. The next chapter will explain what happens during the car ride to the hospital and at the hospital. (:
I am thinking of doing a big time skip, to Tobin's last day at Berkeley and when she finally plays at UNC. Would you guys be okay with that? Once I get that time skip in, more drama can be created. (; Tell me what you guys think!
