Drapetomania

I left in the middle of the night while the moon was full. I knew I was making the right decision, even if I wasn't, no turning back now.

I ran into the night, laughing and screaming. I wanted people to know I was gone. Finally, when I was far enough away from everyone, I stopped. My hands were on my knees, trying to grasp for air.

I wish I did this sooner. Every bone in my body was aching. I was still smiling though because I knew I was far away from everyone and everything that has ever hurt me. I will never regret this, I can already tell.

I keep running, all the way to the bus stop. I will find a place where I fit in this world and will never have to run away again.

I found myself getting on a bus to the stars. Rain fell down the windows and I felt eyes on the back of my neck. I turned around to see a girl with short purple hair and eyes like a stormy day. She stared at me and I could hardly breathe.

Why was she looking at me? What did she want? A smile appeared on her face and she got up, the only thing I could hear was the beating of my heart. She sat down next to me and said

" you'll be my best adventure"
