KAITO'S POV

The hospital let me stay a bit longer today. The doctors keep talking behind my back, I can still kinda hear them.

"It isn't looking good. She might have a heart attack today."

"He's lucky she hasn't had a brain haemorrhage yet."

"She's got a bad chance of coming through at this rate."

"She might only have until the end of the week."

"What he's doing shouldn't be allowed. Its mean, she's going to be paralyzed for the rest of her life."

"Should we just secretly turn off the life support?"

I couldn't take it any more. I walked out of the hospital, and found myself at the park where me and Miku first met. I sat down on the bench where I proposed and sighed.

My phone vibrated in my pocket. It was from Neru. Obviously.

"Kai, woman onto u. Thinks ur hawt. Brown hair an' eyes. Gotta army o gals w/ her.

~Neru" it read.

I sighed again. Neru has probably became one of my best friends I've met since meeting Miku. Neru always seems to know "whats hot.". At that, a woman fitting Neru's description came up to me.

My eyes nearly popped out of my head. She is hawwwwwwttt... I pushed those thoughts out of my head.

"Hey..." she said, her voice smooth and sounding like an angels... STOP IT.

"Sorry ma'am but my friend warned me of your presence. I am afraid that I am engaged." I managed to spit out.

"Oh... That's a shame. But where is she? I can't see her anywhere." she said, trying to act cute.

"She's in the hospital. She had a... Accident..."

"Oh dear. I am very sorry." she whispered. "See you then." She turned away, and slowly walked off.

My heart felt weird. I remembered this feeling from when I first met Miku, and saw her on the night of the... Accident...

I walked home, being careful not to cross her path. When I got in, I sat down on the sofa my parents had left to me when they moved to America. I refused to go with them as I was old enough. They refused at first, but I slowly convinced them. I was sixteen at the time, and yes, it was a big mistake, but I kept myself in at school, found myself a small job singing at a pub. I did eventually get noticed, but after a few records I could see I wasn't getting anywhere and I left that style of life. I managed to get myself a job at a small corner café, and that's going alright for me. It brings in enough for me to get my groceries, pay my bills, blah blah blah, but yeah, it can be tough at times. I usually go home from school at 4, do my homework and get changed for 6pm, and work there until about 10pm.

You don't want to hear my entire weekly schedule, but since Miku's accident my employer has allowed me to take a few weeks of payed leave. Very unrealistic, I know, but something very similar happened to his wife, who died. He only wants me to occasionally buy in some cakes, maybe make my own for a while. I do that and give some to the nurses and doctors who look after Miku.

Life is tough. But life is life.

I must of fallen asleep, because by the time I got up my phone was going. It was about 11pm.

"Hello? Is this Kaito?" A voice that seemed familiar said.

"Who's this?"

"Hi kaito, its Meiko, you know, that woman at the park?"

"Yeah, hey, I was wondering, do you want to go for dinner sometime?"

What have I done?
