Perrie spat blood into the sink. These days she was constantly in some form of pain. This time it was because she had tried to put a French braid in Jade's hair while she slept with her hair hanging over the side of her bed. Jade had woken up in an angry fright, flipping Perrie over and inflicting several really hard punches to the blonde's face. Jade had apparently not realized what she was doing and started yelling at Perrie to never wake her up again –unless she wanted to be killed by mistake. Jade was so angry that she started kicking Perrie, who was crumpled with a bleeding lip on the floor, in the stomach before tiring herself out and ordering Perrie to get cleaned up.
It was nearing the end of April, almost 15 days since Jade had arrived at the Foster home. Perrie wouldn't be able to take much more of this level of abuse. Jade might end up killing her.
Perrie cried. She wept for a reason she wasn't even sure of. Everything hurt. Her soul called out to a mother she couldn't quite remember existed. The next thought she had was that she wanted Leigh-Anne. Something in her mind told her to not draw attention to this though. She hardly ever even understood her own thoughts. It was like they were just things floating around her brain. It was dark –in her brain that is. And then there were lights that most of the time distracted her from what was actually going on. Thoughts always seemed to appear out of nowhere.
She sniffled. "If you tell Leigh-Anne, Jade might get in trouble la la la-la la la." She whispered quietly to herself. It was strange, she thought, how her 'la's sounded so sad now. They usually made her excited to be in the world but now they made her feel like she was about to go through hardships. She couldn't describe the feeling in those words though –she was only four. But she felt it. She felt the difference. The feeling was in her chest. She touched her chest, gripped at her heart. Bad things were going to happen to her. And she had to let them happen.
Jade wasn't in the room anymore. She left Perrie alone. Perrie sat on Jade's bed. She was going to await her return, hoping Jade might bring her food. Perrie wasn't going to breakfast today. Leigh-Anne's worried eyes would hurt too much.
"La la la la-la la la la-la lalala . . ." Perrie sang because singing was what Perries do.

"Run faster Princeton! Run!" Ray Ray yelled as they fled from a guy in a slick alligator suit. He had a gun and two goons running after him.
"I'm going as fast as I can!" Princeton cried in a panic.
"Well you're not fast enough!" Ray Ray, who was in front, yanked Princeton's arm and they both dived into a tiny alleyway then dashed behind a dumpster.
The sound of yelling could be heard.
"Where'd they go?" A gruff voice asked.
"I don't know boss."
"Stupid brats! Yeah you better hide! The next time I see you kids –well you better hope there isn't a next time." The gruff voice said. "Come on boys lets go."
They listened intently to the sound of faint footsteps retreating.
Ray Ray let out a sigh of relief but Princeton was shaking. "R-Ray maybe we should give the money back. These guys seem really bad. And smarter than the common thug."
"But we NEED this money Princeton! I'm not letting those kids starve!" Ray Ray screamed as he got out from behind the dumpster.
"But Ray everyday we're making more and more enemies . . . we're putting everyone in danger." Princeton gulped then whispered. "I'm scared." He confessed, sure that this would anger Ray Ray.
