Have you ever been speeding down a highway in the backseat of a sports car with two people you met less then fifteen minutes ago and have no idea where you are going? I certainly have.
Leah gripped the wheel furiously, Riley sat in the passenger seat turning the volume of the Kanye West song we were listing to. I sat on my knees in the backseat, looking around confused.
"She don't believe in shooting stars! But she believes in shoes and cars! Wood floors in the new apartment, couture from the store's department!" Leah sung at the top of her lungs.
We were well into LA now. I felt a sudden shock of panic. I had left my phone and everything at the gala.
"Shit! Leah, we have to go back!" I screamed out.
"Too late now." She grinned, we pulled into a valet and Riley threw the keys at a man in a white tee and sunglasses "Take of her. We'll be back before sunrise."
The man nodded and Leah took my arm as we walked out into the glowing lights of the city. I was literally shaking thinking about how much trouble I'm going to be in. Riley buzzed the intercom of an art deco apartment building and all he said into it was "Wasted youth" and the door buzzed, calling us out to open it. We got into the elevator and Riley pushed the top floor button.
"You guys are going to get me into trouble!" I said anxiously, leaning against the wall of the elevator.
"Relax Kiddo, it's fun to get into a little trouble sometimes." Leah smirked.
We made it to the top floor without me puking and Riley swung ope the door of a penthouse apartment full of teenagers drinking and dancing and screaming.
"Holy shit! It's Olive Vie!" Yelled some kids and they came up to me all talking at once. Eventually someone handed me a drink, and I sipped it while a girl with a weave told me some sex story. After getting a bit more buzzed, I felt comfortable that my dad was going to kill me and I made it to the dance floor. I danced with tons of people until the room became hot and dizzy. I found my way out the maze of drunk dancers and stumbled on to the patio.
I looked out on the city, throwing pebbles off the roof into a rooftop pool below. I heard two people talk behind me.
"Dude, that's Olive Vie! Can you believe she's here!" They said in stage whispers.
The second voice commented "Yeah. Look at her."
The first voice asked "So you're gonna try to get her tonight or?"
"Not tonight, no easy. I need to make an impression."
"You could get her tho-"
"I want to have a little fun with it first."
The two voices left me alone on the patio. I hadn't dared turn around. I just wanted to listen in. Honestly who the fuck were those people, acting like I was easy!" I went back into the party and sat next to Leah.
Leah handed me something. It looked like a piece of paper.
"You're just in time, Olive."
"What is this?" I asked examining it.
Leah put he scrawny arm around it "Just put it on your tongue, you're going to love it."
I looked left, then right. Putting the little paper thin square into my mouth. It dissolved quickly. They all sat cross legged around me, smiling and watching. I was a little creeped out at first but then it hit.
The trip. The trip like no other. Have you ever been able to see sound, move slowly and heavily crawl across the floor. I could hear colors. Green laughed and blue whispered. The world begun to slip away before I could grasp it. Where are we going? God dosen't even know himself. I swear I saw Leah sprout wings and ascend to the seven layers of Heaven. I saw the archangels cut out someone's heart. I saw wine pour in waterfalls over LA.

It was four AM and I at a Waffle House across town. I don't even remember how I got here are who payed for this waffle I was eating. Three people I didn't know was throwing syrup over there food and laughing like crazy.
"Oh God." I said quietly, looking around the seedy diner. The wallpaper was peeling like a wet band-aid. The floors were carpeted with a thin fill of dust and crack addicts paced back and forth.
"Are you going to finish that?" asked a girl with big blue eyes. I shook my head as she snatched up the paper plate and shoved it in her mouth. I drank a big sip of water and leaned back. The trip was over and I felt like shit. The people with me were quite the characters. The girl with the big blue eyes and pixie cut looked like a doll. She was fragile and petite even while eating my waffle. The boy next to her was chocolate with eyes like gold, he wrapped his arms around another girl who must have been eighteen with hair bleached blonde and high cheek bones.
I had no idea who they were, I wondered where Leah and Riley were.
"Can I get a ride?" I asked them, the three of them shrugged.
"Where to?" asked the boy, cracking his knuckled and going back to his girl.
"Beverly Hills. On..." The boy cut me off with laughter.
"Beverly Hills? Really? Honey, we are from downtown were not going all the way to the Hills!" The girls exploded with laughter and my face went red I rummaged for my phone realizing I had nothing. No money, no phone. I left it all at the gala. I would have cried but I already fucked up in front of them once. "Can someone call me a cab? I have nothing." I said quietly, the girl with blue eyes took out her cell and dialed a cab, telling them to come to Waffle House. Then i collected small bills from the group getting enough to get to the Hills.
The yellow taxi pulled up and the three of them wished me goodbye and good luck and hoped to see me at the club sometime. I jumped into he backseat and was whisked away.
Not even the calming Spanish music coming from the front of the car could settle me down. I didn't have my keys or anything, it was four AM and dad was going to kill me. I tried to calm myself down making up fantasy stories that Dad was still at the gala, Leah dropped my stuff off and the backdoor was open. Come one, who stays at a wine party till the sun rises, how would Leah know where I live and what celebrity with crazy fans leaves their backdoor open?
I got out the cab and crept down the driveway to the glass doors. The lights were off which meant dad was still out or went to bed. Good. I surprisingly pulled open the glass doors and tip toed inside. The lights flashed on and there was dad, sitting on the couch. Holding my phone.
"Let's talk, Olive." He smiled.
Oh God.
