"Where the fuck were you?" Dad bellowed getting up from the couch and advancing towards me. He rarely cursed. I felt a bolt fear run up my spine.
"I left... I went with the people at my table at the gala..."
His eyes were filled with rage "So where did you go with them?"
I jolted back, my mouth was dry and my eyes dropped to the floor "We went for a drive."
Dad started laughing "Am I some sort of joke to you? Where did you go?!"
"We went to LA. That's where we went. We went to a Waffle House." I made a conscious decision not to tell him about the party. It would only make matters worse.
"Jesus! And you I'm not even that angry about that. I would have let you run off with them. I want you to make friends but you didn't tell me st the gala, you didn't even take any money or your damn phone!" He threw my purse at me, I stumbled to catch it.
"After the twentieth missed call someone realized it was coming from the purse on the table! And what if someone stole that! I would be in danger! People would break into my house, call me, find ways to ruin me! Your mother would be in danger and we both know she dosen't deserve that and most of all you would be in danger, everyone would know about you. They could hurt you!"
"I'm so sorry dad, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry." I cried, he swooped me up into his arms and pet my hair.
"You just need to be careful, I was so scared Olly." He grasped tighter "You should go to bed."
I smiled, and started up the stairs.

I woke up very late yet I still felt tired. It was Saturday. I stretched, rolling back my shoulders and going downstairs. Dad was sitting at the island, drinking out of a tall Starbucks cup, another one sat on the island along with a crumpled bag.
"Hey." I said, picking up the cup and sipping a medium roast, I rummaged through the bag and found a squished croissant.
"Good, you're up." Dad chirped "Now you can begin your work."
"Work?" I asked with a mouth of pastry.
"Yes, you're still in trouble for last night so this morning I gave Kaine the whole weekend off and you will be doing all the chores."
"Oh god." I mumbled, throwing my head back.
"So, here's the deal. You can't go out by yourself. You better answer your phone and you have to complete this list my tonight." He handed my a piece of copy paper. It was typed up all neatly.
Olive's Chores and Rules List
First of all you should know you are grounded, so no one can talk to you or come over. You can't go swimming, no computer and no TV. Luckily I've set it up so you can't erase your TV or computer history.
Chores:
1.) Go to the Grocery Store. You must pick up Vitamin Waters, yogurt, cereal, dinner for tonight and tea.
2.) Clean out the pool.
3.) Vacuum the living room
4.) Mop the kitchen floor
5.) Do the dishes.
"You are kidding me." I said flatly.
"You wish and if you finish these early you can hangout but you can't leave the house."
He took his keys and his sunglasses, taking his coffee with him.
"And where are you going?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"I'm going to brunch with my agent, you think I', going to stick around here. I left money for a cab to the market. Later." He beamed and slammed the door.
My Saturday was officially ruined. I went up stairs and dressed myself in light blue cuffed boyfriend jeans, a black tank top, black converse and some RayBan's sunglasses. I might as well look okay even while working. I think i'm going to call this day the day of shit.
The cab ride was quick and it was really stupid I had to take a cab to the grocery store. I forgot in LA no one walks and in the Hills you're in the middle of nowhere. The sun burnt my arms as I grabbed a cart and dashed into the air conditioned store. I browsed for a moment and went into the dairy aisle, I took several Greek yogurts and I heard a voice behind me.
"Looking good, Olive." It slurred, I turned around only to see Riley lying in a cart, legs draped over the sides of it. It was being pushed by a boy.
I want to talk about this boy.
Everything about him was perfect. Perfect. Absolutely stunning. He was light brown skin and narrow eyes, he had dark hair full of volume and if I didn't say it before. He was absolutely beautiful. Skinny but toned. Tall and built. A face that makes the angles sing.
My knees wobbled but I kept my balance.
"You guys got me in so much trouble last night!" I yelled pointing a finger at Riley.
"You know that was all your fault right."
"Don't even fucking start." I stammered "Why did you and Leah ditch me at the Waffle House? Why didn't you drive me home? Why didn't you let me go back for my phone?"
"Correction." Riley beamed "You ditched us to go to the whatever house, we didn't know where you were so we couldn't drive you home. And you didn't tell us you left your phone so we couldn't even go back for it."
He was right. God knows when I left. I sighed and put a box of orange juice into my basket.
"Okay, I'm sorry. You're right." I blubbered, Riley grinned.
"So we want to meet your dad." Riley said quickly, I nearly dropped the basket.
"No way! I'm on lock down and you know he's a human being."
Sky chimed in "William Vie is our idol! He's like killing people and banging chicks and like-" Riley started to hump the air and I looked away.
"You're never meeting him."
"What!" Sky protested "Can we come back home with you just pop in?"
"Let's have dinner with 'em" Riley shrugged, he cracked open a diet Pepsi and chugged it down.
"You didn't pay for that!" I scolded.
Riley whipped his mouth with the back of his wrist "Too late now, and you know what? Sky and I will show up, say hello and ask everyone to dinner." He looked back at Shy who nodded with agreement.
"Whatever." I murmured "You can try."
Sky took my basket and put his toned arm around me, smiling. I couldn't help but blush even though I just met him, he seemed alright. But I learned this lesson from Adam. Never fall for anyone, you'll only get hurt.
Too late.
