Chapter 23

Its been 3 days since I've been home. The best 3 days of my life actually. Its like me and Trinity have known each other forever and our relationship couldnt get any better. I start school again today.

"Baby, have a good day."

"I will. I love you baby." I kissed Trinity as I stood on the steps of my school. "I'll miss you baby."

"I'll miss you too, but the doctor said im in recession, so I'll be back sooner than later."

"Oh. My. Gosh. Its recceding already? This is amazing."

"I know. I love you baby. Have a good day."

"Love you too." We kissed and I watched her walk to the car. She was walking alittle funny. Its like she's sore, but im not gone get into that now. That soreness means I must've done my job right. That made me smile. I walked into the building when I saw her driving off and headed to the office.

"Hi, Ms.Janic." I smiled at the older lady as she looked up.

"Oh. My. What a great surprise. Hello Ms.Garnet. Welcome back."

"Thank You." I smiled.

"You have a new schedule actually."

"How come?"

"We got some out of state students so we had to make a lot of new changes."

"Oh, okay. Thats fine."

"You now have Advisory with Ms.Knight, room 218.."

She went through my whole schedule but i couldnt listen, my mind was focused on visiting Trinity this weekend in the hospital. I missed her already, things were getting better and Amiry was growing up fast! She didnt even look like my little baby anymore. She was making sounds and acting like she could talk.

I walked into my Algebra II class and smiled, no one was in here yet, so i went to the back and sat in my seat. I looked through my phone at pictures of Amiry, Trinity, and I. We looked soo cute, soo happy.

'Whoa look who it is." Drea said, I didnt even notice she had walked in.

I giggled. "Hey, girl." She leaned over and hugged me.

"Im glad your here again, We missed you."

"I missed ya'll too." I looked Drea up and down, she looked different. "You look different Drea."

"Ugh!" She sighed. "Ita noticeable already?" She slumped in the seat next to me.

"You pregnant?"

"Yes." She looked like she was about to cry.

"Dont cry." I went over to hug her. "Its okay. Its gonna be okay."

"I know. Im just I dont know. I havent told him yet."

"Just tell him."

"I will."

"Hey baby." Mike kissed Drea on the cheek. "Hey Jay."

"Goodmorning." Me and Drea said in unisome. The class slowly started to feel up. People I didnt even talk to walked up to hug me and say they missed me and was glad I was back. I was happy to be back. Class surprisingly flew by. All of my before lunch classes were just soo fast.

It was lunch time and I headed under my tree with Mike and Drea. I smiled as soon as I saw the tree, Carved in the Tree was TA+J=True Love. I just started to smile super hard.

"Who carved this in the tree?"

"I did, I knew Amiry was Trinitys daughter from the moment I sat eyes on her. She looked like you but she looked like Trinity, so i made sure just incase ya'll didnt come back to this school that you would always be remembered no matter what."

"Awwwww, Mike, you soo sweet." I ran to hug Mike, he just laughed and hugged me to.

A throat cleared that made me look up. Ugh, It was her.

"Um, Im glad your back J-Jayde." Chassity stammered.

"Thank You, Im glad to be back."

She looked uncomfortable, she shifted her weight from one foot to the other. "Anything else?"

"Um, no, no. I'll see you later." And with that Chassity left.

"Bruh, school been soo boring without you." Drea said as she ate her McDonalds.

"I know, I make all the action happen." I laughed.

"Lol, im sooo serious. Mee and Mikey just been chillin. We been bored, aint nobody worth talking to, its like when you left everybodys personalities left with you."

"Aww, man anybody know why we left?"

"Yea, like 2 days after we saw you in the mall the school made a announcement, they called everybody to the gym, and they told us what happened. They said Trinity had cancer, they didnt say which kind, and that you wasnt leaving her side so you werent gonna be here either."

"Oh, well yea, that pretty much sums it up."

"How is she?"

"Shes fine, the cancer is actually in remission so shes getting better faster than expected. They expected from 6 months to 2 years before shes cured."

"Awwww!" Drea started clapping. "Thats sooo good!"

"I know!"

"I wish we had started becoming friends sooner. Im sorry for the way I treated you."

"What you mean?"

"Like, we could've been friends. I just was more worried about what people would think of me If i hung out with a lesbian."

"Oh, thats fine. Thats a normal reaction, I dont really mind though. We're friends now and thats all that matters, Right?"

"Right." They said in unisome. The bell rung and we went our seperate ways to finish off the school day.

"Hey ma." I said as I got in the car.

"Hey baby. How was school?"

"It was fine." my mama, Alex, looked forward and she looked tired. "You okay, mom?"

"Yea, sweety." She smiled weakly at me. "Im fine."

We drove im silence till we got home. I just walked straight upstairst to my room and plopped down. I went to sleep feeling exhausted.. Its like those dreaded elementary school days... The worse kind.
