I don't think I will be able to post tomorrow, so here's the chapter for the 4th of July. Happy BBQ weekend!

July 4th, 2016
Katie Morgan sat on the swinging bench on her front porch the morning of America's Independence Day. Earlier, she held a cup of iced coffee from Dunkin' Donuts, but she had long finished it. The empty cup sat on the table in front of her, begging to be refilled. With a concentrated look on her face, she hadn't seen her best friend park in front of the house, and sit down next to her, excited about something.
Katie only noticed Alex when he began poking her arm, and chanting her name constantly.
"Katie. Katie. Katie. Katie." Alex repeated for around thirty seconds before Katie shook out of her thoughts, and answered him.
"Alex? When did you get here?"
"About a minute ago. But I just got the best idea ever!" Alex exclaimed to her. Katie laughed, and motioned for him to continue.
"The list. I picked two things to do today, and I think everyone will appreciate it."
"Okay, and what is this idea?"
"A paint war, and afterwards, backyard camping."
"Brilliant! I get the girls, you get the guys."
"Already on it."

"Alright, let's crack this bin open and get started." Katie announced once everyone had gotten to her house. She warned her parents earlier a handful of people were coming over, and that she was going to be sleeping at Alex's for the night.
After sorting through the bin for a good five minutes, Katie found the bottles of different colored paint, and hairspray and shaving cream.
"Oh this should be interesting." Conner and Paige said at the same time. The two looked at each other for a moment than looked opposite directions, and the faint blush on both of them was evident.
"Okay then." Katie said, breaking the silence, which quickly turned awkward. Almost immediately following what she said, Katie began handing the stuff out. Everyone had thought to bring a drawstring sports bag to carry their things, and Katie gave Alex a purple one, as he didn't have a chance to grab one that morning.
"Water bottles?" Emma asked, while shoving the bottles already given to her in her bag.
"Downstairs. I'll grab them on the way out." Katie replied, as she took her own things. She also grabbed a second bag, and threw a small, portable speaker, her iPod, and the Chargers for both.
The group of teenagers slowly filtered out of the house, Katie and Alex behind them all, water bottles in hand.
