A woman with the hair of ebony, sea green eyes, and porcelain skin walked throughout the streets. She was trying to get to her destination; home.
If one knew this woman personally, they would say she was both lucky and unlucky. She had already found her lover and was granted the wonderful gift of magic and sight. Unfortunately, her lover left her.
'What was the point of being able to see if you have no lover?'
She would be asked this question many times after one would hear about her love life. 'Easy,' she would reply, 'because I have to take care of my son.'Like personalities, everyone's magic was different. One's power was influenced by many variables. One major thing that influenced your magic was your background. Her ancestors were psychics, clairvoyants, oracles, and seers. So naturally, she had the power to read you with one touch. But her specialty was the ability to show you your past, future, or your present, all within a split second. She could also sense the auras of others.
To her, her abilities were both a blessing and a curse.Days, she would come home crying from how overwhelmed she was with negative vibes and memories. Her son would then begin to comfort her and remind her that those weren't her thoughts.
She was haunted with the nightmares of many.
Sometimes, she'd would consider sealing her magic away. But every time she did, her son would come to mind.
Like her, her son was cursed with green eyes. The only thing that made him truly smile was being able to see his soon to be lover. The way his eyes lit up with excitement and hope. It was all a mother could ever ask for; their child's happiness.
The woman was only a block or two away from her home. Her pace beginning to speed up. She was excited. Her son's birthday was coming up. You see, earlier that day, she had this vision that her son was granted the ability to see, it happened on his birthday. She wasn't aware of which birthday it would be, but she knew it would be when he was older and in high school. But that would be a long wait. After all, he's barely 12.
She yearned for the day her son gained his vision back. She wanted to see him truly smile. She wanted him to see the beautiful world he lived in. She wanted him to see the light; to escape the darkness.
A cold breeze blew, reminding her she needed to get home. She secured her scarf and began to pick up her pace once again.
She was only a few feet away from the gate of her house, bringing out her keys as a response. The next thing she knew, her and her keys were on the ground. She began to get up and dust off her coat. She then went for her keys that laid on the ground. Before she could reach for them, a small hand began to grab the keys and held them. "I-I'm sorry, ma'am, I didn't m-mean too," the boy stuttered out. He was a blond with the bluest of eyes. If you didn't look close enough you'd more than likely mistake him for a tomboy. "Here are your keys ma'am," he held out her keys in front of her. She hesitated, scared that she might see something she didn't need to see and have a breakdown in front of the kid. "You ok, ma'am?" She nodded "Y-yeah. I'm fine." She took a deep breath and grabbed the keys from his hand. Right as she made contact with him, the boy's future came to her. Images of her son smiling and being able to see were shown, both the blond and her son held hands, kissed, and best of all, her son was happy. She fell to her knees, overwhelmed. She was out of breath as tears came streaming down her face. "Are you ok ma'am?" She nodded, taking many deep breaths in the process. "I'm fine, just had a little... anxiety attack." Worry filled his expression "You sure?" She nodded and brought herself back up to her feet. "Excuse me, but may I ask? What's your name?"
The boy hesitated unsure of whether or not to tell this stranger his name. He looked into her eyes. Green. This woman must have been through so much. He looked at her hands, noticing no ring. She's able to see but has no ring. More than likely her lover left her... He then looked at her two story house. She lives well... He then looked back at her. The way she looked at him, with such tenderness. She's a mother. His expression softened and he took a deep breath, choosing to trust this woman. After all, she didn't look like the cursing type at all.
"My name is Mikaela Shindō."
