Mikaela attempted to wobbly spin a pencil slowly, the other casters surrounded him watching his every move.
"Just a bit faster Mikaela." His brow furrowed with concentration. Never had his eyes been such a true crimson. Usually the blue always seeped through, his pupils usually a purple red. His magic was seeping through his eyes, dancing and moving with his bangs like the wind.
"That's enough Mikaela. It's obvious you don't know basic magic. Has your family taught you nothing. A family is only as prestigious and as well respected in proportion to their offsprings'...abilities. You have no technique, your posture is nonexistent, your magic is minimal, and it seems all you know is spells. Spells are for a mere child. You're a disgrace."
The blonde fell silent. He kept his mouth shut. Not a single word was to slip from his lips. They could not know. No one could. Not even Yuichiro. He focused his thoughts on the boy, yet his mind kept lingering, to his family, to the unspoken things. He was the beginning of the horrible aftermath that was bestowed upon his own mother. Krul lips parted with curiosity. She narrowed her eyes.
"You're hiding something, blondie. Secrets are never good, Mikaela. I intend to find out. Is that candor serum I sense in your system. You'd do anything for Yuu-chan wouldn't you?"
[candor serum is the name of the potion Yuu gave Mika, it stays dormant in your system for weeks and can be activated be especially skillful castors]
And he opened his mouth. The words flowed out naturally, as if rehearsed a thousand times. His parents, his powers...Yuu-chan...They all flowed out as smoothly and as clearly as the tears that fell down his rosy cheeks.
He uttered the words that he only kept to himself.
"My mother is...
...
"Hello?" The raven called out. He strained his ears in an attempt to find the voice, but his ears had failed him for the very first time. Not that he cared. The melody swarmed his head and muddled his mind. The music was beautiful. Yuichiro gasped. Cerulean replaced the darkness that he absolutely hated. He cried with joy.
A nightingale.
The raven swayed ever so slightly, humming along to the words of a song he knew not of. The mystery bard's voice gracefully came to a rest. Yuu's keen ears picked up on his lovely sigh.
"Ah you're finally up. Now do you feel tired? Any fatigue? You nauseous? Any signs of discomfort?" He acted as if nothing ever happened as his hand grazed Yuichiro's cheek. He couldn't help but blush madly. "Man those bullies cursed you bad. Thank God I studied more healing songs than I should have for my nurse's aid exam, if not we surely would've had a big problem here. Now can you..."
The raven hardly listened to a word the other said, rather focused on his sweet mellow voice that left a hum in his ears and a major thump in his heart. "What's your name?" Yuichiro said with a small slur. He just needed to know who in the world could possibly produce such a beautiful sound. "Shusaku...yours?"
"Yuichiro...you can just call me Yuu. Or anything you want. I mean there's someone who calls me Yuu-chan..." His face flourished red as he began to ramble about his name. He didn't even realize until Shusaku's voice cut through his like butter.
"Yuu...Yuu-chan?" Yuichiro's heart melted in an instant. "I know it's stupid right? A bit childish if you ask m-"
"I like it. An adorable name for an adorable boy...Can I call you Yuu-chan?" Shusaku laid a hand gently on the latter's knee. Never had a boy driven Yuu this madly. He smiled.
