The doorbell began to ring, I assumed it was my mother who was let out early and forgot her house to get in. Boy, did I assume wrong. Before me was Kimizuki.
"Get ready. You have five minutes."
"Where are we going and why?"
He sighed. "To Yuu's, he's home alone and taking care of a weak Yoichi at the moment. I'm gonna pick up Yoichi and you're going to stay with Yuu. Four minutes." I practically ran upstairs, changing into fresh clothes and putting on some shoes. I now wore a white t-shirt with the words 'I hate shirts with words on them' in big bold letters. It seemed like a good choice at the time. I also wore black jeans, my baby blue converse, and my matching blue cardigan. I grabbed my cologne and sprayed a few pumps, hoping his sensitive nose wouldn't would think I put on too much or too little. Although unnecessary, I combed my hair until it looked and felt better.
"One minute!" I heard Kimizuki yell. I grabbed my phone, my charger, a small notebook full of spells I wanted to show to Yuu, and shoved them all into both of the back pocket of my pants. I practically ran down the stairs, nearly tripping on the last uneven step.
Upon entering the living room, I saw Kimizuki, who was now seated on the couch, his eyes glued to his phone. Eventually he looked up, a small smile made his way to his face. "Let's go."
**
I nearly tripped about a dozen times, Kimizuki strides were too long and fast for me to keep up with him. By now he was practically running, dragging me behind him by the hand. When Yuu's house finally came into view, my pace seemed to quicken as well. Yuu-chan seemed to be the only thing in mind at the moment. The grip held on my hand ceased upon reaching for the doorbell.
Not even seconds later did we hear things start falling. The door was soon opened, revealing an adorable blushing Yuu. I couldn't help but smile. "Yuu-chan!" I pulled him into a tight embrace. He hugged back, his chin now resting on my shoulder, his face in the crook of my neck. He took in a small breath. "You smell nice, Mika." I felt the heat rise in my cheeks. Hearing that from Yuu meant the world to me.
Why was that?
"Where's Yoichi?" Kimizuki soon interrupted our hug by pushing us past the entrance of the door. I gave a small huff. Yuu on the other hand, didn't seem to take it as well. In all honesty, it looked like he was angry at the coffee table. "Why should I tell you?" He asked defensively, crossing his arms in the process.
Kimizuki only sighed before walking upstairs, not seeming to miss any of the creaking steps. "Why you going up there?!" Yuu yelled around the staircase.
"I'm getting Yoichi."
He came down with the small brunette in his arms, the longer he stood, the more comfortable the brunette got, meaning the closer to Kimizuki he got. It looked so adorable as he wrapped his arms around his neck and nuzzled his face into the crook of Kimizuki's neck. Kimizuki was of course blushing.
He glared at both Yuu and me. "Not a word." He growled, which resulted in Yuu laughing like crazy.
Was it weird that I thought he had a beautiful laugh?
I soon shook these thoughts and opened the door for Kimizuki to leave. He gave a small thanks before finally walking off with the tired brunette.
I closed the door behind him, my smile only growing as result.
Was it wrong that I missed him?
Like a lot?
He now wore a grin, dragging me into his plain room. "What do you wanna do, Yuu-chan?" He blushed slightly at the nickname, his hand gripping mine a little tighter.
How could I not think he was adorable?
"Whatever you want." He answered back. I smiled. "Mind if I practice my magic on you?" He shook his head, his hand practically now holding on for dear life as I let go.
Did he just frown?
I sat him down on his bed and set my belongings on the nightstand before sitting in front of him. I slowly closed my eyes, both my hands now holding his as I took a deep breath.
Why was I so nervous?
I tried to focus as much I could as I felt the energy begin to flow. I focused on a song, a song that I could not hear at the moment. That wasn't until I heard Yuu gasp that I heard it. Like the bubble of isolation that seemed to form around me had popped.
"How'd you know?" He was smiling and turning his head from side to side. "Where's it coming from?"
It was his favorite song.
"I didn't know and it's coming from you." He looked back to me his eyes seemed to shine as they looked directly at me. We stayed like that for the rest of the song.
Why does he take my breath away?
The song soon ended. He bursted into a fit of giggles and smiles and reached out for me. Upon instinct, I pulled him into an embrace, resulting in a small giggle escaping me as well. I noticed he stopped laughing, his gaze now directed towards my shoulder, a blush making it's way to his cheeks. My eyes seemed to be glued to his as he clung onto my shoulders like a child, his face now buried in my chest.
Is it wrong to say that he was so adorable right now?
"Mika..." he mumbled out.
I then hummed as a response, now playing with his hair.
So soft.
"Can...I know this is weird...but...Can I touch your face?"
What?
"Sure, Yuu-chan." I reluctantly let him pull away from me. The warmth I once had now gone. He reached out his hand and I gently placed it on my cheek.
Is this what friends do?
His index slowly traced my jawline. His hand now going down from the bridge of my nose, to the tip of it, and now down to my lips. I seemed to stop breathing.
"Soft." He whispered almost incoherently.
I felt the heat rise in my cheeks.
His hand made my way to my ear, tugging on it slightly. He let out a giggle, his hand now in my hair. I was so thankful I combed it earlier. He was now petting my hair and running both his hands through it.
Soon enough, he pulled back, his hands now resting on his knees. His smile was bright and so contagious that it seemed to tug at the ends of my lips.
"I wanna see you Mika!"
