years of war

This is based off the years of war song by porter Robinson that I fell in love with, and an AU where the characters are living in a corrupt kingdom. And they look like how you think cause I'm lazy. And it's almost 3:30 in the morning... (well writing this description...)

Paige pov.
I can't believe the nerve of my sister! June sent my parents a letter, she works for the king more like living there with no job to do. She gets many chests of gold a day and she can't suffice any for her family that is living in the garbage? Outrageous, I don't understand how king Roy thought she was better then me, but then again this whole place has been dark for much longer then I have been born, 200 years to be exact and also... unfortunately, I've fallen for a kind gentleman who is living right next to the palace... and I have yet to know his name. The lill teen was handing out the small newspaper his name was fred. He was the only one who knew what I was thinking.

"Good evening miss note, would you like a free newspaper? This is on the kingdom." Fred asked his voice soft so no one heard him say the word free.
"As usual, thank you Fred." I said, looking at the paper. "Do you know the name of him?"
"Who? Oh!" Fred laughed a little awkwardly afterwards "his name is Toney, he is count Cogs son, and is friends with the guardsmen, Shrignold Pink. They both have the same intentions as you but refuse to speak a word to anyone besides me." Fred was shy but he sure knew how to get though to someone whether it's just a secret or a story he was the information gatherer and his other brother Steve was the publisher Fred and Steve had a little sister named candy but she is only 7 years old and knows every bad word in the square...

"Oh Fred! What would I do without you!" I replied hugging him tightly. He gave a friendly blush and stuttered.
"I-I suppose you'd be lost!"
"Our Tierney will come soon..." I smiled warmly as I got back to my starved parents whom had nothing but bird seed for lunch and dinner.

Toney pov.
"Why good evening cogs!" The teen said
"Same to you Pink, I need to tell you something and don't overreact. Got it?"
"What is it about?"
"Well... I was walking in a market taking something off the table they understood because I'm the counts son, I don't technically need to pay for anything... but I was looking down to see if I had my shoes untied, then I fell right into a girl she gasped in surprise, I looked back at her, as she was trying to pick up... a notebook?
"Hello, could I help you out with something?" I asked, she looked at me curiosity in her eyes then they widen as she turns a dark red shade.
"Oh, no! I don't need help I'm sorry, that your so ho-w are you doing?"
"Um... I'm just looking around. You?"
"Same, except... I don't really have money, no bragging rights there..." the mystery woman stood up and held her hand out. "Uh, do you need help off the floor?" She asked in confusion, I took the hand. "My name is Paige note, what's your name?" we stared at each other, her grey eyes in my dark blue ones, I looked at the clock next to us, I had to be home a while ago!
"I gotta go... I hope to see you soon." I said walking away
"Y-yeah... bye." She said, as she ran off I was watching her, my mind wondering where I heard that name before. I was wondering if you knew it by chance..."

"Toney! This is great news, you found your special one!" Shrignold exclaimed, Toney held his mouth shut.
"Shrignold, I told you to be quiet! She said she was from the note household! Wait, if a family member is in the palace, then why did she say she had no money?"
"Note. June note, I despise her! She gets way too much gold, she says she won't give a single piece to her family for always favoring Paige, she's cold blooded."
"I can see why they favored Paige more..." Toney thought. "I feel bad for not telling her my name..."
"Guard Shrignold!" Prince Manny shouted, running to Shrignold who now looked in the direction. "Sir Malcolm requested that you look after me while I get my friends! Oh hello mister Toney!" Manny waved at Toney politely, he did the same.
"Hello there young Prince, do you have any news for us?"
"Well, my father said that there would be a royal ball next week and would like you to ask the whole kingdom is invited to be wed to lady-in-waiting June note!"
"Why would anyone want to be with a horrible person like june?"
"Cause she could lead us away from poverty!"
"Well, I don't want to waist time so who does she choose if she doesn't find anyone in the ball?" Toney asked questioning slowly, Manny was hesitant to say who then whispered to Shrignold. He turned almost pale as he spoke.

"Well, the beast chose you." He responded, Toney became wide eyed he would never fall in love with June, the thought disgusted him.
"When's the ball?"

Colin pov.
Nightfall had gotten close to us, the sun reaching the far ent of the palace making the whole thing shimmer on dispaire and darkness "Gilbert, stay close I got this." I replied to my younger brother, Gilbert nodded and jumped down.
"Alright brother, I will wait!" Gilbert was already halfway down.
"This is what king Roy gets..." I mumbled we used to be okay with him trading and selling, now I prey to pelling and Sloane to ask if we have one more day on this planet, he double-crossed my family, he killed my mom and dad. I'm back at his castle for all the wrong reasons. I'm here to steal some gold from the royal treasure, I'm now a bandit who has to do everything in his power to keep his small innocent brother alive. This terrible curse on these streets is hard enough to deal with, but me and my brother were outcasts.

"I have to do this..." I said running a hand through my Brown hair, since I had worked in the castle I had the secret entryway etched in my mind. I tiptoe down the old wooden stairs and saw the room full of gold. I gladly took pockets and pockets, then I heard a small gasp. Standing in the doorway was Prince Manny, he was the next heir of the castle I was so frightened, what if he killed me too?

He had a stare that was in shock and in sadness.
"Hello. Are you okay?" Prince Manny was walking closer to me I was just frozen.
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to... just please don't take me away, I have a bro-ther and... and he's just a kid..." I cried, Prince Manny didn't stop getting closer, as he stopped in front of me he had sadness in his eyes. He hugged me tight telling me that it was okay, and that I had every right to do this.
"Here you go." The Prince held a small gem. "I won't miss it. I've got more... although... I don't want them..." the Prince still hugged me. "If you need anything feel free to ask me mister Colin." He remembered my name... does he know who I am? I need to ask these questions later...
"Thank you. You have no idea what this means to me. You'll be a wonderful king." I said his smile faded.
"Listen, if you really want advice I think you need to talk to count Toney and guard pink about something called "Tierney"..." the Prince said, I nodded in acceptance. He told me to go on my way before the guards would become suspicious, so I ran out and got off the castle top by rope like my brother, we ran from the castle as far as my legs could carry me and my brother.
"Colin, are mommy and daddy almost home from their trip?" He asked cautiously.
"Not yet gil. But not soon."

Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! This was cool to me... I want to make it a story but I know how I am when I try to -coughs- procrastination-nation -coughs louder- but... hey who knows...

Team Paige: Paige, Toney Shrignold (don't know it yet) Colin, Gilbert, (don't know them) robin, Harry, Manny (possibly)

Team Roy: shady (lamp), Malcolm, June, count cog (toneys father), Roy, Lucy (mannys special one (Oh boy..))

In between: Steve, Fred, candy
