Meeting the parents

when we arrived I stopped just before we walked through the door.

"Elvis Im really nervous" Elvis turned to me with a confused look on his face

"why are you nervous my parents are going to love you I just know it" he grabbed my hand as we walked through the front door. I gripped his hand a little tighter he squeezed back it reassured but the butterfly's in my stomach were going crazy.

when we walked through the door we were greeted by Vernon at a first glance he seemed like a nice man who was quiet reformed.

"why hello, Im Vernon its very nice to meet you we have heard lots about you" he hugged me

"well hello its nice to meet you Im Abbagail I've heard lots about you too"  Vernon went and sat back on the couch and continued to read his paper.

"Momma, I have someone i would like you to meet" he said as we walked into the kitchen. his hand still linked with mine

"well hello baby who's this gorgeous girl" she said as she hugged me

"well momma Abbagail is my girlfriend, shes new to Memphis she moved from Texas"

"why hello its so nice to meet you finally Elvis has spoke a lot about you lately, its nice to put a face to what I've been hearing about you" she hugged me then she went back to preparing dinner.

Elvis gave me a tour of there house it wasn't big but it was the perfect size for his family. After his little tour we went and sat on his bed he put his arms around me and I placed my head on his chest I listened to his heart beat. this was not how I thought my new life would be it was great I was happy and excited for the future.

"hey baby" Elvis shook me I must have dossed of

"yes Elvis" I said looking up into his big blue eyes

"momma says tea ready and she wants to know if you would like to stay, she says it ain't no bother and that we can take you home after it. only if you want to"

"only if its no bother I'll stay"

we got up from his bed and headed to the kitchen were we helped Gladys Set the table while she finished of dinner.

we sat down tks dinner and Vernon said grace and after that we were feasting on a traditional southern dinner of fried chicken, beans, and cornbread.

" so abbagail I hear your from Texas?" Gladys asked

"yeah I am from Texas me and my mum moved hear after my fathers accident" my throat started to feel dry

"why did't your father come with you if you don't mind me asking?"

I felt a tear rush down my cheek "well my father was killed in a car accident a couple of months back and my mum couldn't handle living there anymore so we moved away"

more tears started falling

"hey babe, everything gonna be just fine you have your mum and you've got us if you ever need anything ok, just ask" he placed his hand on top of mine

"oh abbagail Im so sorry I asked Im sorry like Elvis said were always here for you"

After dinner finished Elvis and I helped Gladys clean the table an wash all the dishes it was good I learnt more about Gladys and Elvis as well.

"abbagail are you ready to go home its getting kind of late"

"sure thing i don't want mum to start worrying Elvis"

"see you later Gladys thank you so much for everything it was absolutely lovely, hope to see you again real soon" I hugged her an went back to stand with Elvis

"Hey daddy could you please take abbagail home" Elvis grabbed my hand

"sure thing I'll meet you out the front at the car" he went to get his coat

Elvis and I walked out the front of his house to the car he was still holding my hand when we entered the car he kissed my cheek

Vernon drove me home Elvis didn't take his eyes of me.

we arrived at my house the lights were on I guess mum was still up, Elvis walked me to the front door he kissed my forehead my eyes my nose and my lips.

"see you tomorrow abbagail at school I hope you liked tonight I hope you did"

"I sure did Elvis see you tomorrow goodnight bub"

I walked inside mum was asleep on the couch I didn't disturbed her I turned of all the lights and went up to bed.
