Something to do with Enjolras' precious flag

''No.''

''Yes.''

''No.''

''Yes.''

''I am not letting you hold the flag Marius. You will drop it, or set fire to it or lose it! I can't trust you with anything.'' Enjolras growled; he had spent a large proportion of his morning convincing Marius that he didn't need to hold the flag at the next meeting.

''I'm careful!'' Marius protested. ''Nothing will happen to it.''

''Why do I not believe that?'' Enjolras crossed his arms. ''If you take it, something will happen to it; so you will not be touching it at all.'' With that, he stormed out of the café.

''Pfff. I'm careful.'' Marius muttered to himself as he took the cups back to Renee. ''I'm careful, aren't I... uh-oh.'' The cups he'd been holding promptly clattered to the ground. Renee looked at him and sighed.

''Just go, I'll sort it.'' Marius pouted, but shuffled of to the door anyway. He arrived at the door and turned back to wave to Renee, when he noticed.... The flag! Surely Enjolras hadn't meant to leave it there? Would it matter so much if he took it to give back to him? If he didn't, someone would clear it away and then Enjolras would be fuming. No, this was the right thing to do. He slowly walked back to the table, snatched up the piece of red material and scampered out of the Musian.

Two hours later......

''Courf? 'Taire? 'Ferre? Thank the stars you're here! I have a problem.''

''Sounds serious, what is it Marius?''

''I lost..'' Marius faulted. ''Enjolras' flag.'' He mumbled.

''Sorry?'' Grantaire grinned, ''Didn't quite catch that. Did you say you lost Enjolras' flag?'' The men exploded into peals of laughter.

''You do know he will probably kill you?'' Courfyrac spluttered.

''Yes, and that is why he may NEVER, NEVER find out. Understand?'' The three in front of Marius nodded. ''Good, now you have to help me find it. Courf: you come with me, 'Taire: you find Joly and look with him and Combeferre: you and Sophie have a hunt together- NO distaractions.''

''Fine.'' They all muttered in sync.

COMBEFERRE:

''Did he give you any clue as to where it might be? Sophie asked as she scurried alongside Combeferre.

''This is Marius we're talking about! He just got in a flap then ran off yelling commands like a very weak army officer.''

''Hmmmm. Well, where does he visit often, besides the Musain? Curse my brother!'' Sophie and Combeferre (Why can't it be Sophie and Joly? grrr.) stopped for a moment.

''Got it!'' Combeferre beamed. ''Eponine's bound to know!'' The pair ran off to find the girl in love with Marius.

GRANTAIRE:

''Enjolras is going to kill Marius! Enjolras is going to kill Marius! Enjolras is going to kill Marius!'' Grantaire chortled as he and Joly walked towards the river Seine.

''Stop shouting! You'll give me a headache, which will turn into a severe headache, which will turn into a migraine and then..'' Joly trailed off. ''I'll die. You're going to kill me 'Taire. Oh why do I have to look for this stupid flag with you? And why in God's name are we heading towards the Seine? What will it be doing there?'' He started to flap his arms wildly as his breathing speed increased. Grantaire stood still and rubbed his back soothingly.

''Ssssh. You will be fine. Nothing is going to happen to you. Now we need to focus on finding this damned flag.''

''Why did Marius have to go and loose it? What was he even doing with it in the first place?!''

''Who had what?'' Enjolras appeared in front of them. Grantaire and Joly froze.

''Whe..um...urrr...you see...I...baaa?'' Joly mouth opened to fire out random syllables. Grantaire elbowed him.

''We wanted to know why Gaveroche had a gun earlier.'' He lied.

''A gun? I don't know, ask Courf or someone. Have you seen Marius at all?''

''Err...no...maybe.. cheddar?'' Joly let off some more random words. Grantaire smirked;

''Why? What's he done now?'' He waited for Enjolras to say something about his flag.

''I need to know how he's coming along with his speech.'' Grantaire's smirk fell off his face and was replaced by a look of disappointment. He tugged on Joly's arm and they walked away from Enjolras.

MARIUS:

''I was at the Musain, with Eponine, at my Grandfather's house and I think that's it.'' Marius turned to Courf with a panicked expression, ''Where shall we try first?''

''Lets try your Grandfather's house.'' Courfyrac was getting very bored. They had been looking around random cafes for about an hour, and they had found nothing. He wished he could've been with 'Taire or Combeferre, as Marius was becoming a real pain. Several times already he'd considered ditching Marius, but he felt that it would've been mean to do that to one of his closest friends. He groaned loudly, startling several birds.

''We're here!'' Marius said brightly, ''I'll check upstairs and you can do downstairs, is that alright?'' Courf nodded as Marius swung the door open.

''I'll see you in ten minutes.'' Was all Marius said before he scampered upstairs. Courf looked to his left and then to his right. Then back to his left; on a small table next to the door was the flag, just dumped in a heap. He sighed- typical, careless Marius.

''Marius?!'' He called and without waiting for a response, he continued, ''I found it! I am going to take it back to the Musain and wait with it for Enjolras. Bye!'' He ran off.

BACK AT THE MUSAIN:

''So its been sitting here all afternoon?'' Enjolras questioned ''Just sitting here?''

''Yes, I believe so.'' Combeferre replied. He and Sophie had arrived back at the Musain at the same time as Courfyrac. Joly and 'Taire arrived half an hour later. Once Courf told them where it was, they'd waited all afternoon for Enjolras to return to the café. They were now pretending that it had been there on the table when they arrived.

''Good afternoon!'' I see you found the flag.'' Marius entered the Musain, completely oblivious to the fact Enjolras was there. ''Now all we have to do is wait for Enjolras and pretend its been here all....'' He trailed off as he turned around to face the wide-eyed Combeferre, Sophie and Joly, the sniggering Grantaire and Courfyrac and the stony-face Enjolras.

''MARIUS PONTMERCY? WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO MY FLAG??''

Schmurrrr.... that was a long one! it took me about three hours and five cups of coffee to write. I'm exhausted. But we don't have to go to school tomorrow as the teachers are on strike! curse state schools.....

I love it really :D

Hope you guys enjoyed it. If there are things you don't like about my writing, please comment and I will try to change it.
