Innocent

The Fence

Jase took Jesca to every single one of her classes. She really didn't like him but she was glad to have a guide so that she didn't get lost. She tried to sit alone at lunch but even then he wouldn't leave her alone.

Finally school ended for the day. And just as she thought she was free she heard Jase yell her name.

"Jesca!"

"Jase, school is over. You can leave me alone now," she said annoyed. She turned to look at him and realized he wasn't alone.

There were two people with him. One guy and one girl. They both smiled. They had the same grin as Jase.

"Hi. My name is Alyssa," the girl said."And this is my boyfriend Seth." She gestured to the other guy with them. "Jase told us about you."

Great. Jesca thought.

"We were wondering if you wanted to hang out with us," Jase said.

"Oh. Um. Sure. Why not,"Jesca said.

"Great. Let's go then," Alyssa said. She grabbed Seth's hand and started walking. Jase and Jesca followed them.

"So where are we going," Jesca asked.

"You'll see," Alyssa said with a grin.

"Uhh. Why not just tell me," Jesca said.

"Cause then that would ruin the suprise," Seth said.

"Ok...," Jesca said.

They walked in silence the rest of the way. Jesca noticed Jase looking at her out of the corner of her eye but ignored it.

They finally reached a fence with a no trespassing sign.

"Alright. Jesca you wanna go first," Alyssa asked smiling.

Jesca looked at all of them feeling a little bit scared.

"Over the fence," she said just to confirm what they meant.

"Yeah. Where else," Seth said.

"Um. No thanks," Jesca said.

"Oh come one," Alyssa said, talking as if Jesca were a little kid. "You won't get in trouble."

Jesca couldn't help but feel like Alyssa was lying.

"Can't we do something else," Jesca begged.

"You want friends don't you?" Jase looked at her almost sympathetic. "Or do you want to be called a dork your whole life?"

Jesca thought about it. She knew what would happen if she got caught.

"Maybe another time guys," she said. She started to turn around and walk away.

All of a sudden she felt her backpack being ripped off her shoulders. She whipped around to see Alyssa tossing it over the fence.

Alyssa looked at her smiling. "How about now," she said in a bossy tone.

Jesca looked at the three of them and her bag. She took a deep breath. She didn't think she would ever have to do this again.

She ran towards the fence. Jase, Alyssa, and Seth backed away. Jesca jumped grabbing the fence. She climbed the rest of it quickly and jumped over the top. She landed right next to her bag.

She grabbed her bag and looked up to see them all staring at her. She knew that they would ask questions if they got the chance. She flung her bag over her shoulder and started running along the fence.

"Wait!" Jase started running after her. It was no use. She was way faster.

Alyssa and Seth caught up to Jase. They all watched Jesca disappear quickly.
