Gennie looked out the car window with a bored expression. Pine trees passed by on either side of the van as the Mason family approached Pinewood, Virginia.
Mr. Mason had gotten a job as the principal of Pinewood High School. Gennie was the only one out of her 2 sisters and 2 brothers who did not want to move from Denver, Colorado.
Gennie's mom turned around to look at the kids. "We're almost there!" she said with a big smile. "Just around the curve will be our brand new house!" Gennie rolled her eyes.
The van turned the corner and a big beautiful house came into view right in front of them. For a moment, Gennie forgot about being mad.
They pulled up into the drive way and got out of the car. Mr. Mason called all of the children in front of him. Gennie sighed. She was 14 so she hated being called a child, even though she was the 2nd youngest.
"You can all go and choose your own rooms" he said. "There are so many rooms here that we'll even have a few for family if they decide to come and visit." With that, Gennie and the others went to go look for a room.
Half an hour later, Gennie still was looking for the perfect room. She had one in mind but she felt like she should make sure that there wasn't anything better. She walked up a small, winding flight of stairs and came to an old, wooden door. She pushed it open and
it opened with a creak.
Gennie paused as she saw what was in the room. The room was circular, like an observatory. In the middle of the Pom was an old bed with moth-eaten sheeted. On the bed, there was a boy asleep on the bed.
Gennie ran down the stairs to get her parents.

There was utter chaos in the hallways as all of the Hunters and guards tried to figure what was going on. Nathaniel had slept in a little late so he had been late to work.
When he came in that morning, everyone was freaking out. When he asked one of the guards that was running around what had happened, the guard said that a prisoner was found missing.
Nathaniel turned white as he somehow knew which prisoner was gone. Hoping that he was wrong he asked, "What prisoner is missing?"
The guard looked at him for a second before answering. "Prisoner #385. His name is Lucas McLyons."
