QUESTION AT THE BOTTOM💋

The wolves press forward, making us all stand right next to each other in a circle. They growl at us, closing in on us.

No more than a few minutes after I found out Charlotte was alive, we were cornered by a lot of wolves.

We're outnumbered! I yell at Dylan in the mate link. There's twenty of them, while there's like eight of us. Dylan grabs my hand, squeezing it tightly. He's sweating, and I'm pretty sure everyone else is too

I know we are! He yells back. A bigger wolf snaps its jaw at us, pressing in even closer. This is bad. We're way outnumbered and we have some dumbasses trying to kill us. We need a distraction. But who? What's the one thing they want to kill most at the moment? Me.

I'll distract them. Fight the rest of them off. I love you. I say through the mate link. Dylan looks at me with wide eyes, his grip tightening on my hand.

No! I won't let you. I smile softly at him, shaking my head.

You have too. Be strong for everyone else. I whisper, kissing him on the cheek. I tug my hands out of his grip, and turn back to the wolves. They watch me carefully, almost all of their eyes locked on me.

I run at a group of them, shifting and jumping over their circle. I take off at a sprint in the opposite direction of my friends. Looking back I see I've attracted at least half of them, who are now chasing me. It's run or die, now. I run as fast as I can. I run to where only god knows, my legs carrying anywhere but where I am now.

One of the wolves is getting a little too close for comfort. I take a sharp turn, cackling in my head as they slip trying to turn.

Lead them back! Dylan yells, and I turn back to my original direction and run. I beg my wolf to run faster, the other wolves nipping at my heels. I can literally feel how close they are.

I near my friends, but to my surprise it seems there's another pack there with them. The wolves behind me slow, and I run over to Dylan. I look and see a group of wolves lying dead, and I realize that was part of the enemies group. I quickly look away.

The other wolves look like they don't know what to do. They're outnumbered now, by a lot. Do they surrender, or die?

"You have two options." Someone booms, and I turn to see who I believe is the alpha of the pack that aided us. He's a buff man with black hair. "Surrender and be tried. Or die right here." He finishes, staring harshly at all of the wolves. "You choose your path. I could care less. Either way you broke many laws."

The wolves shift nervously as they look back and forth at each other. They look back at us, showing their teeth. They start to growl, letting us know they've made their decision.

I saw it coming right before it happened. A wolf launches itself at me. Right as it hits me, I crane my neck, lock my jaws around its throat and twist. The wolf drops to the ground, dead.

Another attack has begun.

But as soon as it started, it was over. Our allies have almost all of them dead in a couple minutes. One remains, and as we close in on her, she shrinks back and rolls over showing her stomach. "She's being submissive." Dylan says, and we all stop closing in.

"She will be tried." Dylan says, concluding that we won't kill her now.

"There will be a trial held at the other packs place, for any pack to witness. The trial will begin in three days." The alpha says, who I learned is named Lewis.

They leave us standing there, Dylan let's out a long sigh. "I hope this was it." He says, scratching behind my ears. I nudge my head into my side, trying to get him to look behind him. He finally does, just now noticing Tyler.
