I follow my instincts to the river, where I assume Dylan will be. I sniff the air, relaxing when I smell the minty sweet smell getting closer and closer. I wonder what this could be about? He probably wants to make fun of you for almost dying. I brush off my negative thoughts, I did not almost die.

Yes you did. My wolf tells me, and if she was an actual human I would've smacked her for saying that.

I stop in front of the river and look around. I see Dylan looking at his phone. He notices me a few seconds later, but his face remains the same...which is uninterested. He stands at the edge of the river, before looking back at me. "Are you gonna cross or am I?" He asks and I roll my eyes. Of course he'd ask that, it's not like I nearly just died.

I raise my eyebrows and take off me leather jacket. "I'll cross." He nods, taking a seat on a rock, and staring at me. I unzip my combat boots and take my socks off. I hold them to my chest as I start walking into the water. I make an inhuman like sound at the temperature of the water.

"Cold?" I hear him chuckle and I nod, not bothering to look up. "Any day now." He says, sounding annoyed. I pretend as if I didn't hear what he said, I don't need that kind of pressure.

I finally make it across the river and practically run out of the freezing the water. It feels like I might get hypothermia. I put my leather jacket and shoes back on, hoping to warm back up. It doesn't help.

The breeze blows onto my feet, causing me to involuntarily shudder. "I could've crossed you know?" Dylan mutters and I look up and narrow my eyes at him.

"That might've been nice to know before I almost froze to death." I chided, watching Dylan laugh a bit.

We sit in an awkward silence, causing me to rack my brain for ideas of what to talk about. "So what'd you need to tell me?" I ask, and he looks down at me. I watch nervously as he thinks for a few seconds. "Is it that hard to answer?" I ask, laughing at the end.

"Oh right." He says as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "I wanted to ask how you were doing? You know...after yesterday," He says nervously. I try not to smile at his nervousness, but I end up smiling anyways. "You were a bit um...beaten." I roll my eyes, well no dip. But I don't say that cause that would be rude.

He scratches the back of his head, waiting for me to answer. "Oh, um... I'm better I guess, I mean my face probably looks rough and my whole body aches." I say, laughing at the end of it trying to get rid of some of the awkwardness. It barely works, but he still makes an effort at a conversation.

"I'm surprised your face has healed so quickly. You should've seen it after what Ryan did to you..."

Ryan...So that was his name. The asshole that tried to kill me. I should go give him a piece of my mind. Wait a second... "Did you kill him?" I ask, my eyes wide. He looks at me as if I'm a two headed horse that's wearing a tutu.

"I don't think so...I mean he was pretty bad afterwards so I might've," Dylan answers. I feel my heart rate pick up, he could still be alive. He could be planning to attack me again.
