Pt. 16 He could change

Dg's POV
"DG!!" shouted Sami.
"Wh-What?!" I flinched, the sudden loud sound of my sister's voice startled me, causing my long bushy brown tail to fluff, I turned toward her in a slight panic.
"Wh-what is it S-sami?" i asked.
"I made you something~!" Sami said, gleaming with excitement.
"Oh!" I smiled, calming down, smoothing down the fur on my tail "What did you make me big sis?" i was excited to see what Sami had made for me.
"Oh, I did this." Sami smiles proudly as she handed me the picture she drew.
"It's a picture of you, Sans, Papyrus, Mr. Gaster and I on the surface."
"the...Sur...face?" I asked, i was confused. "sis, what's that mean?"
"what does what mean?" Sami asked.
"The Surface." i repeated myself, as i looked down at the picture, i admired the drawing, and i smiled a little, it was colourful and it looked happy, it made me happy too.
"I heard Mr. Gaster and Miss. Alphys talking about a thing called the 'surface'." sami told me.
"ooh~! what's it like??" i asked, looking up at sami "maybe we should ask Mr. Gaster and Ms. Alphys?" I asked, my large ears perking up with excitement, "I'm sure they'll tel us if we just ask!" I smiled from ear to ear.
"Okay, let's go!" She grabbed my hand and dragged me to the lab door and knocked.
Fumbling could be heard from in the lab, as Gaster grunted and accidentally knocked over tubes of chemicals, followed by him cursing to himself, we heard his footsteps approach the door, as gaster opened the door. "Y-yes, yes, what is it?" Gaster looked around in a daze, as if he looked like he had just woken up from an all-nighter from work, since he was holding a cup of coffee in his hand, while rubbing the dark lines out from under his tired-looking eye sockets.
"Mr. Gaster!" I shouted with excitement, apparently my loud voice caused gaster to flinch, and nearly spill his coffee over his nice white lab coat, gaster glared at me, and sighed
"What. Do. You. Need?" Gaster repeated himself, trying to keep calm. Sami cleared her throat and spoke up.
"My sister wanted to know what 'the surface' is...please tell us?"
Gaster's eye sockets widened and he looked down at them in bewilderment.
"What did you just say?!" he couldn't believe what he just heard."Did you just mention...the 'surface'?" Gaster questioned them.
"Uh...Y-yes? is that a bad thing?" I asked, i was confused at the sudden change of tone in his voice. was he mad at us for knowing about this...Surface?
"Since when did you learn about it?!" Gaster's now confused tone turned into annoyance, as the usually calm man began to scold us.
"Well, I overheard you and Ms. Alphys talking about the surface once, and i was wondering what it would be like...'outside'...What's it like?" Ask Sami.
"Yeah! papyrus and sans have even been curious about it too!" I said with a bright smile, hoping he would teach us about the outside world.
Gaster set down his cup of coffee, and he glared at us "So you were Eavesdropping on us??" He narrowed his eyes at us. I noticed my sister's smile began to melt into a frown, as it looked like she looked a little guilty for listening to their conversation...
"N-No... I was just... drawling and I heard you guys talking... you guys talk really loud." I could hear in Sami's voice that she was scared, so I held her hand tighter, as did she mine.
"'Drawing' not 'Drawling' " Gaster corrected her, Sami nodded and looked down.
"A-are you...mad at us, Mr. G-Gaster?" I asked, i was a little scared for what he was going to say, and i was terrified if he was going to punish my sister...
Gaster looked at me in slight confusion, he was at a loss for words, it was in fact his fault for talking so loudly with Dr. Alphys, he couldn't control it if they learned new things, but there was indeed one thing he could control; he could control what they are allowed to see or not... Gaster sighed and pushed his glasses to the bridge of his nose and cleared his throat awkwardly and looked down at them
"No more talking about the surface...it is a dangerous place, and it is prohibited for you two, or the skeletons to step into the outside world." Gaster spoke as calm as he could.
Sami reached out and grabbed his hand making him flinch at actual touch.
"But Mr. Gaster why?"
"How come?" I asked.
Gaster narrowed his eyes once again, mainly at Sami. He then turned around and slapped Sami. Inhaled deeply, and yelled in an angry tone "By what do you NOT understand?! DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS! I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO REPEAT MYSELF! IS THAT CLEAR?!" Gaster huffed, looking down at us.
"A-Ah....i ... i-im..//sniff// im s-sorry Mr-"
"NO THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, YOU TWO SHOULD BOTH KNOW BETTER!!" he then walked over to Sami,"and you." He said grabbing her wrist,"YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO TOUCH ME!"
She had been sobbing hysterically at this point. It wasn't like him to do that...
"S-Sami!" i screamed for my big sister, "M-Mr. Gaster! y-your hurting her! p-please st-AAAH!!"
Gaster grabbed Me by the Soul, I clawed at my chest at the sheer feeling of my soul being held tightly in his grip, tears filled my eyes with fear, as i KNEW we were going to be punished.
"You two, are coming with ME!" Gaster hissed and walked down the hallway, dragging sami by the wrist, while she was stumbling to stand up, while i was being suspended in mid air as i saw my now blue soul floating in front of me, i quivered in fear, and i hugged my arms and sobbed quietly, as gaster opened a dark cell, and practically Threw us into the dark room, there were no lights, only the illuminating hallway that gaster stood in. Sami and I sat up, and watched Gaster from inside the room.
"The Both of you are going to STAY in here, until i feel like you have learned your lesson!" Gaster huffed, and slammed the door shut, and locked it by placing his hand on the scanner, the scanner beeped, and a light turned red, signalling the door was locked, he pulled out a cigarette, and lit it, and put it in his mouth, as he walked down the hallway.

We hugged each other as we carefully listened at the sound of gaster's shoes clicking against the tile floor, echoing through the hall, Sami shook in fear, as did I.

"S-sis? a-are you...okay?" Sami asked me.
I let go of Sami, and sobbed, sami's eyes widened as she rubbed my back in circles, i was terrified of the dark, i had a very active imagination, i was always afraid monsters were going to eat me when i was sleeping, so i was very afraid of being in this room, but luckily my sister wasn't AS scared.

"D-Dg... do you really think Gaster has good in him? i mean...he just locked us in a dark room, he probably isn't going to feed us either!" Sami said with slight fear, and anger in her voice. I looked up at her with tears in my eyes, i guess the good thing about us being canine and feline is our amazing vision, so i could see sami in the dark, we didn't need light, but the dark still scared me...a lot...

"I...//sniffle// i KNOW there's still good in him s-sis...he could change, if he just tries..."
Sami looked down at me and smiled, with tears in her eyes "i admire your optimism Dg... I really do..." Sami hugged me, as i hugged her back, and soon, we both drifted off to sleep, as our souls both glowed in unison...
