Lunch

Chapter 3

I ushered Junior to sit at the table with my friends and I. Jeff was sitting there. I successfully did not make eye contact with him. He's my friend boyfriend. Sitting I said,

"Hey guys, this is my literature classmate Junior."

"Hi Junior". They all said in unison smiling.

"Hey am Junior".
Tia laughed,

"We know honey"

Junior laughed at the given name.

"So what are you guys like?" Junior asked.

"Well....we're a squad. My name is Lulu, this is my boyfriend Jeff and you know Tia and Jess. We party and go out together. Have fun and stuff like that. We study too. You may join us if you wish." Lulu introduced.

"Are you kidding! I feel like a part of the squad already." Junior shrieked out.

"Well welcome bro. " Jeff said bumping their fist.
Junior looked and me and smiled broadly.

"You have amazing friends", he said.

"So Jess you're coming to the party right?" Asked Tia.

"Of course! Oh wait...shit! No no!" I cried holding my face in my hands.

"What's wrong?" Lulu Asked.

"I have nothing to wear."

"Really? I can take you shopping!" Junior said.

My eyes opened wide.

"What? No! What? I'm sorry no." I said surprised.

"Come on. You're my friend, let me help".

"He's such a gentle man." Tia said blinking her eyes in a admiring way.

"Come on girl. Let him take you." Jeff said.

I looked at him. I tried not to look into his eyes.

"W...well....I...uh....no sorry ". I said looking down at my food.

"Its okay. I just was trying to help". Junior Said.

I noticed the sad tone in his voice. When I was about to say 'yes' he got up and walked away, head hanging down.

"Oh no". I muttered under my breath.
"Don't worry jessi". Said Jeff.

I blushed at the name Jessi. Tia must have realised and kicked my feet under the table.

"Ow!" I cried.

She smirked.
