As Ice regained his consciousness, he could see that he had been carried to the infirmary on the second floor of the school. He turned and saw Hiriya and Alicia sitting on the bed just opposite of him.
“I’m really sorry you had to get involved in my problem, Ice.” Hiriya apologized with Alicia still hugging him tightly.
“It’s fine. Marina has always been like that.” Ice replied.
They were in the infirmary where Ice was getting bandaged for the wound on his left arm which had widen due to the amount of stress he put on it during the duel. Minerva, on the other hand, was asleep on the infirmary bed. Her Exiled stood next to her. The nurse tightened the bandage and cut it to size.
“Yooshi. That’s it.” She said.
“Thanks, Kyouki.” Ice said.
“It’s fine. Ice. I am a nurse after all.” Kyouki replied.
Azumi Kyouki, one of Ice’s friends. She and Ice get along very well together, so well in fact, there was a rumor that the two were going out. This had been the talk of the school since first year, but has slowly calmed down, as there was no evidence to back it up. This had led to many of the male students to try and ask her out, till today, still no one managed to convince her as she would always say: ‘I’m sorry, I’m already going out with someone else’
After confirming that Ice had only a light graze, he stood up wobbly and tried to head for the door, Hiriya and Alicia followed in suit. And Kyouki continued with her business.
“Ha~, I think Rita might still be angry with me because of you. Let’s go to the cafeteria today.” Hiriya said.
“…ok.” Ice said.
Hiriya didn’t realize it, but there was a hint of reluctance in Ice’s voice.
They headed to the cafeteria. It was bustling with students. Many were waiting in line at several stalls. There were cafes and shops. It looked more like a shopping center than a cafeteria. The longest line was the recently opened Fast food restaurant. Hiriya headed towards it with Alicia tagging along. However, Ice was even more reluctant, but still followed Hiriya.
In the restaurant, there were four cashiers with a long banner above which wrote:” All girl staff day.” There were a lot of boys all clustered at the cashier.
“Ah~. I forgot. Today is girl staff day. This is gonna take a long time.” Hiriya said.
Ice just walked forward. The boys all saw Ice and backed off immediately.
“Hey, that’s Ice from class 2-E right?”
“Yeah, I heard he beat Minerva in her Exilation state with just Lv 7 power.”
The whispers continued as Ice reached the counter. A light blue haired girl with green eyes was the cashier. Ice seemed a bit hesitant in front of her. The cashier also blushed when she realized it was Ice.
“Hi… Umi.” Ice stuttered.
“Aa…” Umi stuttered, quickly blushing again.
Everyone around them started to look intently.
“Hey, Ice never showed that kind of expression to anyone right?”
“… Don’t tell me…”
After Ice ordered. Hiriya was next. He looked at the girl’s tag. “ Umi Nakizaki” then couldn’t help but give a small peek at her chest. He quickly joined Ice when he had taken his food. The meal was an unpleasant one. Everyone around them was mumbling about Ice’s reaction earlier it was either that or about how Hiriya had gotten Alicia. Alicia, however, seemed more focused on eating than caring, so she kept munching on her food.
‘Now I understand why Ice never eats here, but that girl sure had big boobs, maybe an ‘E’ cup?’ Hiriya thought to himself.
Ice got up and told Hiriya that he was going to find Rita. Ice was about to leave when Umi ran up to him and grabbed his hand. This focused everyone’s gaze at him. Ice turned and whispered something into her ears and left. Umi blushed and ran back to the counter. Hiriya just looked dumbfounded. Upon seeing this, a boy came up to Hiriya.
“Are you that Level 0 who suddenly became Level 10 today?” He asked.
Hiriya nodded.
“Nice to meet you. I’m Hizaki Hazari. Just call me Hiza.” He said.
“Ok then.”
“I know what you’re wondering, why is everyone so fixed on Ice and Nakizaki-san right?”
Hiriya nodded again.
“It’s because Nakizaki-san is the most famous girl in this academy’s first year. There have be a lot of guys who admire and want to go out with her. However, none have been successful to date. Oh, she’s walking off.”
The two saw Nakizaki walk out of the restaurant; she had a very happy smile on her face.
“Let’s follow her.” Hiza said.
After convincing Alicia to remain sited at the table, the two followed her, making sure she wouldn’t see them. She keeps going until she reached the roof of the school. Under the big oak tree. Ice was seated down there. As he saw Nakizaki, he stood up. She walked over to him. Hiza took out a small device and inserted an ear bud in his ear. He gave the other to Hiriya. Hiriya took it and looked back at the pair. Hiza then proceeded to aim the device at the pair. Hiriya could hear the conversation very clearly through the ear bud.
“I was really shocked. Ice.” Umi said.
“Why did you come here? I thought I told them not to make you come here.” Ice said.
“…but I wanted to be of use to you, Ice.”
“I know, but this is way too dangerous for you. I’ll find her. I promised you right?”
“…but…”
Before she could finish her sentence, a huge explosion rocked the roof.
“What? What’s happening!?” Hiza said.
The tremors stopped and then the broadcast announcement rang.
