Aerial, Celestial

Dainty, Divine

An unearthly little feeling

Spiritual, Sublime

If love were subtle

Humble, refined

Of wings and tails

Our fairytale

Would be impalpable

Unsubstantial

Rarefied

Of wind  and water

It wouldn't matter

Exquisite, delicate fingertips

Dancing through my spine

Two unholy worlds

Unforgiving thorns of hate

I will wait

For our ghostly encounter

Count a minutes to hours

For our Ethereal fate

The sun had risen to the middle of the sky by the time I realized I was not gonna make it to lunch again

The sun had risen to the middle of the sky by the time I realized I was not gonna make it to lunch again. Above me, bright rays of sunshine stretched in their enthralling attempt to reach the bottom of the sea.  I swished the end of my tail anxiously.

It was the third time this week I'd missed lunch. Put quite simply, I was not in the mood to go.

I had recently failed the Dream Test for the third time since I had beed deemed ready to take it. It was a serious thing. If I was to become Queen of Asrai Kingdom, I had to figure out how to pass it, or else I was going to be a Healer Nix for the rest of my life.

The test had been so recent, it was burnt into my mind as if I had been branded with a hot  iron, and I couldn't stop re-living it.

"Miss Callize," said Selene, one of the examiners. Her warm eyes and respectful tone of voice, typical of an Elder Nix, soothed the nagging ominous feeling in my stomach, even if only just a little bit.
