A/N - OKAY SO I HAD TO GO BACK AND ADD IN THIS CHAPTER BECAUSE I WROTE IT AND FORGET TO POST IT BEFORE THE NEXT CHAPTER. SORRY I'M AN IDIOT

So, the long tread back seemed shorter than it was. Alice was chatting with the two men who escorted her the entire way, even if they weren't listening to her the full time. Levi heard her, but he didn't particularly pay attention. He just enjoyed listening to her voice again, so he just soaked in the sound of her voice, on her words. As he did, he also began to think a lot. Think about Alice, what she's been doing, why she outright refuses to join the Scouts, much like Levi did back in the day, back when Isabel and Farlan were still alive. He wondered why it took her so long to reach out to him, why she didn't say she's actually been alive this whole time. He wouldn't be caught dead to admit it, but he thought she died that day years ago, and he missed her terribly.
"Right, today the new recruits have also entered the halls today, so I'd recommend staying close to Levi and myself. Things could be a bit ruff." Alice nodded as she took a step closer to the two men and they both entered the main headquarters of the Scouts. It's halls held a low murmur of noise, one that resembled background static, or the buzzing of flying insects. Erwin directed Alice with him to the mess hall. She walked behind Erwin, as Levi walked behind her. He watched as her head turned side to side, observing her surroundings. Her face was blank, void of any emotions, and it was something Levi hadn't seen her in, even way back when they were younger. Soon, Erwin pushed open the doors to the mess hall and stepped to the side, allowing Alice inside. She nodded to him as he gave her directions on what to do.
"I need to speak with a few Leaders for a moment with Levi. These are the new cadets we have gathered, you can go mingle with them if you choose." Alice nodded as she turned her body, her cloak with her hood still up fluttering behind her. She looked to her left and right as she scanned the group of young individuals, looking for someone decent looking to start a conversation with. Her steps were stopped short when her chest collided with the back of someone. From their size and the muscle on their back, she assumed it was male. She stumbled backwards and regained her balance with the help of the hand that grabbed her upper arm. Looking up she locked her golden eyes with the light-brown eyes of a man with ash colored hair.
"Nice reflexes there kid." The man slightly pulls Alice to regain her balance and releases her arm. He crosses his arms and turns to fully face her now, the hood still on her head.
"It's a nice compliment, but I wouldn't have to show them if you would watch where you're going in the first place little lady." Alice smirked, she wasn't one for confrontation, but if she got it handed to her, she had no problem whipping out her sass and returning the favors. She placed her hands on her hips and slouched to the side a bit as she looked up at him.
"I'm oh so sorry, but really, it's your fault for blocking the path. You're too bloody tall, that running into a wall would be more effective." The boy scoffed at her before nodding his head once.
"I'll take that as a compliment, seeing as my back is softer than a wall." He uncrossed his arms and offered her one hand to initiate a handshake. She place her small hand in his and gave a quick, firm handshake. "The names Jean Kirstein. I don't recognize you, are you a cadet or something?" Alice took back her hand and his fell to his side and she shook her head.
"Nope. I guess you could call me a visitor. Call me Alice if you'd like." Jean bent down her eye level, she was short after, just a tad bit shorter than Levi, so to say that Jean towered over her was an understatement. He kept moving his head in small stages and Alice was beginning to get annoyed. "What is it you are doing exactly?" Jean cleared his throat and stood back up.
"I was trying to get a look at your face. I prefer to look at a person I'm speaking with, as well as them look at me and this hood isn't helping much." Jean reached to her hood in hopes of pulling it down, but Alice simply smacked his hand away. "Ouch!"
"Don't you know it's rude to just pull someone else's hood down without asking first. Not only is it impolite but just shows that person that you aren't someone who is good at thinking before acting." Alice crossed her arms as Jean just looked at her small cloaked form. He was ready to shoot back a different remark but someone had called over to Alice from across the room.
"Hey!" Alice turned around as Jean looked over her to see Levi stalking their way. Jean offered up his best sullet as he reached the two of them. Levi scanned Alice before his gaze shifted to Jean. He clicked his tongue before looking back as Alice and grabbed her arm. "We're leaving." He then began to drag Alice along with him as he then left the mess hall. "Um, Levi, where exactly are we heading?"
"Erwin plans for you to meet with another bigwig around here. She's a bit out of left field if you ask me, but knowing you, you'll get along just fine." Alice held a blank expression as her eyelids lowered a bit.
"I'm not sure to take that as an insult or not." Levi scoffed.
"Still a dimwitted prat."
"And you're still an egotistical man I see." The rest of the walk to the small room was silent, filled only with the sound of Levi and alice's boots hitting the wooden floor boards. Soon, Levi stopped in front of a wooden door and knocked a few times before pushing it open and entering, Alice trailing behind him and shutting the door behind her.
