FORBIDDEN

the Begininng: Cole's P.O.V.

Agetha and I have errands to run. We walk
toward the ocean. Agetha was in a hurry to find a certain mermaid. She doesn't tell me much though. Just the basics. She needs to find this mermaid who has something she needs for a spell. Knowing Agetha this was going to be a fun spell. She was an evil witch and my cousin and I admired her great talent, but sometimes she got a bit annoying and we argue a lot. We get to the edge of the ocean where a paddle boat is waiting for us. I stop next to it waiting for Agetha to help me push the boat in.

"What are you waiting for?" Agetha looks at me expectantly. "Push the boat in and start paddling. We need to get to her as soon as possible."

I mentally roll my eyes. Of course I had to do all the work. We both get in the boat and I start paddling. I unconsciously start using some magic to help me paddle the boat. We get deeper into the ocean and we see some boulders up ahead. We spot a mermaid next the boulders.

"Is that her?" I ask.

"No. She has a black, purple, with a hint of turquoise tail." Agetha explains. "But that one might be able to help us."

We get closer and the mermaid comes up to us. "Can I help you?" She asks.

"Have you seen a young mermaid around here?" I ask.

"Of course she's seen a mermaid you idiot." Agetha mutters at me. She turns to the mermaid. "We are looking for a young mermaid with a black and purple tail with a hint of turquoise. She has long blonde hair too."

The mermaid gives us a look of recognition. "You know who she is? We just saw her today. She didn't know where she was going or who she was, so we brought her with my family. Hold on. Aria! Aria!" Nothing. We wait another minute. "Excuse me. I'll go find her." She says as she dives deeper into the water.

"You are such an idiot sometimes, Cole." Agetha whispers to me.

"What its a simple question that made sense." I whisper back.

"You don't ask a mermaid if she's seen 'a mermaid'.Whatever. Pass me my spell book." She orders. I bring out my satchel and take out the book, handing it to her.

"What are you doing?" I ask her.

"Well. If she's not coming out willingly, I will have to force her out." Agetha smirks evilly, looking through the book.

"Are you the one who erased her memory?"  I ask realization hitting me.

"Of course not. I need her, remember. Besides I can bring back her memories if I wanted to." Agetha says.

"You don't want to?" I ask confused.

"Not at the moment." Agetha says with a tone that means the conversation is over.
