Astrid and I start walking back to our hangout. She brings back the incident with the two newborns again and I try so hard not roll my eyes at her as she scolds me.

"I can't believe you just let them run off like that!" She exclaims angrily.

"I didn't let them." I say angrily. "They weren't listening to me anymore."

"How could you let them out of your sight?"

"It's not my fault they don't want to listen to me anymore."

"Actually it is your fault." She scolds. "You have to make them listen. You are their leader. We don't want another tragedy on our hands. Like the last time a vampire crossed wolf territory." She says looking at me knowingly.

I wince at the memory she's bringing back. I start walking faster to avoid the subject, but I already feel the flashback coming back on. I see the dead body in my arms and all the blood everywhere. The limp body of the wolf I killed a few years ago. The thought still haunts me every time someone mentions it. I had no control of my blood lust that particular day. When I realized what I was doing it was too late. "Shut up! I don't want to hear you anymore!" I yell. We get to the hangout and I walk inside angrily.
To my surprise, Zuri is standing there waiting for Astrid I guessed. She looks at me with a blank look. Why was she here in the middle of the night? I wondered to myself. I didn't really care. I leave into the next room to let them talk. I find Lilith there and she walks up to me excited.

"Hey! You should come to a party with me. You need to get your mind off things." She smiles knowingly glancing over at Astrid.

I sigh. I knew she was the crazy, reckless one that only wanted to have fun and party. I look at her eager face. We were pretty close and I knew she always wanted me to loosen up a little and have fun. Plus, I wanted to get away from Astrid since she's been scolding me like a child all day. "Sure I'll go." She squeals in delight at my response. "But promise me you won't go ruthless with the humans."

"I promise." She sighs rolling her eyes as she pulls me out the door and deeper into the forest. As we get closer we hear the pulsing music and talking of people having a good time and partying. We get closer and see everyone drinking, laughing, dancing, playing games and  just having fun. Lilith grabs my arm and pulls me toward the dancing people and we start dancing. Some guy notices our empty hands and gives us a beer. Lilith and I look at each other and shrug as we clink the beers together and chug them. We start dancing again as they hand us more beer. Lilith pulls me over to the drinking games and we start drinking some more. We start laughing with everyone and they welcome us into their group. In a way a feel like a normal human again. I forget everything and start drinking some more. I really felt like I was having fun for once.
Lilith and I walk over to some guy that apparently she knows. I feel myself walking funny as we approach him.

"Hey, Ron!" She smiles as we walk up to him.

"Lilith! I'm glad you could come!" He says excitedly slurring his words.

"Tristan ,this is Ron ,he's the on who invited me to the party." Lilith explains introducing us. "Ron, this is my friend Tristan."
We smile and shake hands.

"Nice to meet you." He says.

"So how are things going?" Lilith asks him. "You feel better than this morning?"

"Well, my job is very exhausting I basically hunt humans down." He confesses.

"What do you mean?" I ask confused. Why was he telling us this?

"Well, I'm a cop, detective, however you want to call it. The thing is we are given cases and I follow those people until I catch them." He explains.

"Interesting." Lilith says eyeing me.

That's when it hits me we weren't here to just party she had ulterior motives for this.

"Yeah, what's not interesting when they're about to run away for the fifth time and you have to shoot them dead." He says.

"He's just like us." Lilith whispers to me, hinting at what she wanted to do. I try to ignore her by looking at something else. I wasn't going to do this for her.

"Anyway, I'll be back!" He says getting up and walking away.

"We have to turn him he will be a great asset." Lilith pleads.

"I'm not going to do th-...." Both of our heads shoot up at the smell of blood. I start running toward the smell. I was to drunk to care about anything. I see Ron in the distance and he looks straight at me as he starts running faster. I catch up to him in no time, I grab him and back deep into his neck breaking the skin and drinking. I hear Ron's screams, but I can't do anything to stop. My blood thirst taking over. I feel someone's hands on my trying to get me off. It was Lilith screaming something at me. I push her away, still attached to his neck. She eventually gets me off and we start fighting and hissing at each other as Ron holds his neck screaming in pain.

"Tristan! Stop!" Lilith yells at me.

Hearing her voice snaps me back to reality. What have I done? I look down at Ron still screaming and I run deeper into the woods leaving Lilith and Ron behind me.
