Something grabs at my ankle and pulls me down, the same feeling curls around my arms, my head is on the dark wooden wall behind me, I feel a sharp pain in my arms where the mysterious monster lurks. I look down to see grimy, teenage, feminine looking hands digging into my skin making my arms bleed. I open my mouth to let out a scream and a hand comes out of the wall and wraps around my face covering my mouth and muffling my scream, "MIA!" I hear from somewhere in the house, "Mia! We have to go!, the house isn't safe, we can't raid it! MIA!" I hear movement to my left and start to yell out his name but the hand around my has mouth reduced my yelling to a mere whisper. The hands are now around my ankles and forearms and the hand around my mouth is making it hard too breathe, the hands around my limbs start pulling me down, 'Their trying to suffocate me and take me with them' I scream again only to have it muffled. Finally Romulus bursts into the room... 'Wait Romulus?!' "Oh my gods!" He shouts and runs over to me, a discombobulated and concerned look upon his face. He already has his precious, soul reaping dagger drawn, (courtesy of
his father) and he cuts the hands, they dissolve into nothing but a dark mist, he pulls me into a strong, protective hug "C'mon, we've got to get out of here" he says gently in his gravelly voice. The house melts away in a dark blur as we're walking through an abandoned warehouse. (I've by now realised that I'm dreaming, it's a memory from my unconscious mind, although my mind is completely awake and aware of what's happening, I can't control anything because it's a memory- which trust me, is the most frustrating and infuriating thing in the world). My 5 year old body felt tired, I remember this memory well, I knew exactly what would happen. This is what shaped me, made me (but only after it broke me), "Mia, come here, I'm your father, I want to talk to you" a trumpet-like voice comes from the rusty, dark scaffolding that's barely visible in front of me, little me starts rushing forward Romulus takes a grab at my arm but misses. 'No no no, you're thinking irrationally, stop STOP!' Suddenly I've stopped but the 5 year old in front of me hasn't, I chase after her, follow her down a wide lengthy corridor and skid to a stop as she does, or I do, whatever. I finally have time to look at what's going on and I look down at the somewhat transparent spirit that is me, confused I try to focus on the situation at hand. Romulus finally makes it to the entrance of the corridor like scaffolding layout and something flies through my shoulder, I shiver as I realise that it was a knife, it hits the scaffolding and in an instant Romulus is pinned to the hard concrete floor "Ahhhhhh" I hear a high pitched scream from behind me, I spin around to see a manticore, a monster with a human head, Lion's body, wings of a Bat and the tail of a Scorpion. "Hello Mia" The manticore's trumpet-like voice spoke "H-How do you-you know m-my name?" Little me questioned, holding a feebleness my voice hadn't had in a very long time. "Lots of us know who you are down in Tartarus, Mia, you're important, that's why we need to kill you".
