"Serial killer on the loose" was the breaking news everywhere. It went on and on. It was discussed everywhere. At parties, at clubs, at malls and at school. It was madness. Witches started wearing more protective amulets. Humans carried pepper sprays. Werewolves on the other hand weren't shaken by the news. Bethany claimed that they can all protect themselves with their gift.
They sat at the bleachers where no one could listen to their conversation.
"What does she want with Elizabeth Bathory?" Bethany asked.
"No one knows," Esmerée answered, resting her chin on her palm.
"We should ask her," Trina suggested.
"If she's even coming to school," Bethany rolled her eyes.
"I don't think she's coming. She has to be at home to control Elizabeth," interjected Esmerée.
They paused, eyes roaming the empty football field.
"I think we should find her. I'll ask Damien where she lives. The three of us should go together. Just in case anything happens. We will definitely need Bethany and her gift."
"Are you sure?" Trina asked, sounding unsure.
"Positively sure," Esmerée confirmed, "I brought a little something along with me today that could prevent any troubles."

Seth went to school today, lying to everyone that Ivy was at home, down with a fever. He was responsible to fill up the fridge with blood bags since Ivy was caught up with her great-great grandmother. He rolled his eyes. He did not expect himself to meet with any of Ivy's family members. Now, he'll have to live up to her great-great grandmother's expectations. What's even worse was that Elizabeth Bathory was about a four hundred years old vampire. She has literally seen it all. Well almost all. And the thought that she was watching Ivy from the other side literally creeps him out. Elizabeth most probably saw what happened at Israel, between them.
Ew.
The moment Esmerée saw him, she stopped him in the middle of the hallway. He caught that strange scent. Wasn't that scent supposed to be extinct? He thought back about the great exploitation of limestones in the 20th century, causing that plant species to extinct. The vampires supported the great exploitation of limestones at the southeast of Tonnerre.
"What do you want?" he said, not liking the smell. It had to be that plant species.
"Where's Ivy?"
"She's sick," he said loudly.
"Don't give me that crap just like how you lied to everyone else here. I want to meet her after classes. Where does she stay?"
"Somewhere in Sées," he deadpanned.
"Well, if you don't tell me, I'll cause trouble for the vampires in Sées."
"Like you could," he scoffed.
"I could," she held out a single seed in her fingertips.
Seth snatched it out of her hands feeling the small burn before throwing it into the rubbish bin.
"Don't worry, I have more. You'll see it all over Sées," she smiled fiercely.
"Don't you dare."
"I can start here. At school. There's just so many places to just accidentally drop a seed or two. Or maybe I should hijack the water supply of this commune," she continued, feeling victorious.
"Rue du Grand Séminaire!" he gave in.
"You can't just give me a street name. More specific Seth. Write it on a piece of paper."
"Fine. I'll write it on a piece of stupid paper," he said, sounding agitated. He tore a piece or paper from a blank book and wrote the address down.
"Now, if I can't find the place and Ivy. I will drop the seeds all over Sées. Maybe I'll even spread it until the whole France is filled with them. Understand?"
"Gosh you have trust issues. I gave you the right address alright. It's where I live too."
"When it comes to people like you. There's no such thing as trust. You guys are awful alright."
"Like I don't already know," he deadpanned. He could kill this witch any moment but Ivy told him they still needed her at one point and it is always bad to provoke the witch society. He could kill Trina instead. No one said they needed her and killing Trina will get to Esmerée. He then thought about everyone related to Esmerée. Damien was definitely on that list.
Seth whipped up a text message, warning Ivy about Esmerée's intentions. Seth knows that Ivy could handle things herself.
