It was late in the evening when they returned back in Ivy's abode.
"That was short," Bethany commented sarcastically.
The portal closed as Esmerée stepped into the room. To her, it felt great to be back on familiar grounds.
"Let's go," Esmerée said, hurriedly heading towards the door.
"Not so fast!" Ivy said from afar.
Esmerée halts in her tracks like a screeching car coming to a red light. She turned around and faced Ivy.
"You are coming back here tomorrow or else I will tell your dad that you did dark magic."
That did it. Esmerée has no choice but to do what she wants.
"Fine," Esmerée said, walking out of the door with Bethany and Trina, feeling rather down and annoyed.
"You okay? Did they get what they want?" Trina asked.
"No and no," Esmerée replied. Esmerée just wants to hide and crawl and disappear from planet earth until Ivy is gone but unfortunately, gone does not seem so possible unless someone kills her.
"We have to do something about this," Bethany said, reading Esmerée's expression.
"What can we even do?" Esmerée sulked.
"Leave that to me. I'll tell you guys the plan once it's figured out!" Bethany offered.
Bethany turned to Trina.
"You have been quiet."
"Just thinking," Trina replied.

Esmerée returned home. She hoped that she could avoid her father but she met him as soon as she entered through the door.
"Where were you?" her father said, making her jump a little.
"I was studying at Bethany's place. We have chemistry test tomorrow," I lied.
I put down my bag and frowned.
"How was the W & W order meeting?" she asked.
"Not so well. The dark magic can't be identified but they can be felt. They said it felt so negative that plants wilt around the area," he sighed.
"So right now, a number of witches and warlocks have volunteered to cleanse the area and remove the negativity. A number of Slovakian magic folks have been questioned. I hope that they'll find something out," he continued on.
Esmerée hoped that the investigation goes through quickly and that the magic folks at Slovakia never noticed anything. It sounds as if she will be able to get away with it. Hopefully, as long as Ivy does not out her. At the same times, she wasn't the only one who was at fault here. If Ivy drags her down, she is going down with her, along with Seth.
She microwaved her dinner and brought it up to her room.
"I probably should do some homework..." Esmerée thought but one glance at the clock, she was already tired. She felt really tired, not physically but magically. She has to recharge so she filled her bathtub with water, oil and rose petals. That should do the trick.
She received a text message.
"Hey. We haven't hang out much lately." Damien texted.
Damien was right.
"I was busy. Sorry!" she texted back, inserting a sad bitmoji.
"Pick you up tomorrow night? 6pm? Dinner? Sounds good?" he replied almost immediately.
Esmerée wondered if this is what dates are, according to YA books.
"Is this like a date? I mean as friends of course."
"Yeah. A date, as friends. Of course."
"Alright."
"See ya!"
She laid back into her bathtub. She still have to see Ivy tomorrow to make sure she does not leak anything to her dad.
"Where do we meet tomorrow?" Esmerée texted her.
It took Ivy a while to text back.
"My place."
Esmerée didn't bother texting her back. She's nervous about what they will do tomorrow.
