In the fields of  waterbrook park standing in the moonlight amongst the wild flowers was a girl,  she had long silver hair, pale olive skin, pink lips and  bright blue eyes.  She wore a simple knee length white dress.

Quietly she stood their amongst the white moon flowers blooming under the silver light. Glowing softly amongst the sweet scented green grass. She stood and waited, looking towards the tree line for him. Where they agreed to meet. "You've always looked in the wrong place" a soft voice chuckled from behind her.

The girl whipped around and locked her blue eyes on grey ones. For the first time in a long time she looked into his eyes. The boy  was a foot taller than her, and he smiled softly at her. He  had short black hair that curled at the ends and dark skin. " Myron, must this always be how we meet?" The girl asked him her voice laced with annoyance since he startled her.

"It's more fun that way Yinala"

"I'm glad you find my fear amusing" she responded dryly. Turning her back on him she looked up at the night sky gazing at the full moon and the millions of stars surrounding it. Blanketing their world in their soft light. Protecting the from the harsh light of the twin Suns. Their planet was a planet that survived on moonlight. If the daylight struck,  their planets beauty would disappear in the blink of an eye. The fields would be nothing but rock, the trees bare and leafless. Streams would be empty. The starry sea would be a desert.

Myron cam up behind her and placed his hands around her waist. "Oh don't be like that  sweet, it's the one night for the next hundred years I get to see you"

She sighed in defeat as he gently ran his hand up and down her sides and placed a gentle trail of kisses from her neck to her cheek. "Must you be so... Charming"

"Sadly it's how I was programmed"  Myron responded cheekily.

Programmed.... Yinala felt sadness prick at her heart. They must follow their programs. Over the past few centuries after their creation she had fallen for this gentle giant of hers. Her match, her mate. But she knew what must be done tonight. The last night. The programmers needed his heart chip. He was different, he was special. And they gave her the terrible task. Fall in love with him. Like you were supposed to. But on the night of the 10 century meeting you must kill him.  Take his heart chip.

"Would you let me look at you please love?"

She felt teas prick at her eyes and felt her hand transform into its boney blade she kept it hidden under her hair. Slowly she turned around. Eyes glistening in the moonlight with images tears.

She pressed upward on her toes and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. Savor in this moment for it would be their last. As she pulled away the first tears fell as she plunged her blade deep into his chest piercing his lungs, avoiding his heart. She saw shock in his eyes then a glimmer of understanding as he saw her tears.

He knew it was her program, without her saying a word he knew. She let her tears flow freely as the life faded from his eyes. His blue blood staining her dress and dripped slowly into the grass below them.  I love you Myron whispered with his last breathe as he fell to the ground.
