He wasn't really. Darry isn't ever sorry for anything he does. It seems funny to me that he should look just exactly like my father and act exactly the opposite from him. My father was only forty when he died and he looked twenty-five and a lot of people thought Darry and Dad were brothers instead of father and son. But they only looked alike--- my father was never rough with anyone without meaning to be.
Olivia read me that whole paragraph and I could really relate to it. I sipped my strawberry milk and took a bite of my sandwich. Tristan and my dad looked alike. Like really. Tristan and Jack looks more alike though. Which make sense. "Hey. What are you thinking about?" Olivia asked. "Dad and Tristan." I said. "What about 'em?" she asked. "They used to look alike." I said. "Tristan and Jack look more alike." she said. The door opened and it was Bailey. "Billy!" I said excitingly and Bailey and I hugged. "Hey, Laur. How ya feeling?" she asked. "I'm alright. Olivia was just reading me The Outsiders." I said. "Oh, Hey Olivia." Bailey asked. "Hey." Olivia said. "Tristan wants me to give this to you." Bailey said and it was my guitar case. "Thanks Bailey." I said. "Are you and Olivia are like... A thing now?" she asked. "Did you tell her?" Olivia asked and my cheek is starting to heat up. "Yeah. I did." I said. "Why?" she asked. "I can trust Bailey." I said. "I swear Bailey. If you tell anyone." Olivia said. "Okay." Bailey said. "But really, we're not a thing." I said. "Bailey! We gotta go! Hey Lauren." Bailey's dad, Drew said. "Hey." I said and managed to smile. "Bye, Lauren. I'll see ya soon. Don't die. Don't you fucking die. Or else." Bailey said and we hugged before she left.
"Hey, Ollie," I said. "What?" Olivia asked. "I forgot what to say." I said. "Come on, tell me." she said. I want to tell her how I feel about her, but I'm too scared to tell her. "No." I said. "Lauren, come on." she said and got up from her chair. "No. I don't want to tell you." I said. "Tell me." she said and jumped onto the bed beside me. I took a deep breath and looked at her. "iminlovewithyou." I said in a fast pace. "What? Lauren... Speak clearly." she said and went closer to my face. I groaned and crashed my lips onto hers. Wow. This feels good. just her lips in mine, me and her alone in this room. Holy shit. What am I doing?! I pulled away and she was blushing as red as a tomato. "Oh... Shoot. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." I said, covering my embarrassment. "Shut up." she said and smiled. She caressed my cheek and pulled me to connect with her lips.
- Olivia -
What the hell am I doing?! I'm kissing her. I love her for sure, but I don't want to ruin the closeness we have the past day or two. I somehow made my way to sit on her without breaking the kiss and her hands made their way onto my waist. I felt her smiled against my lips and we pulled away for air and i rested my forehead on hers for a while. Her eyes somehow changed into a dark blue kinda color and I think I'm falling in love with it. "So...What were you going to tell me?" I asked and she smiled. "Olivia... I uh... Crap. I don't know where to start. Ever since I've met you... That was like a long time ago. I uh... I fell in love with you. Your eyes, your personality, basically everything about you. That night we kissed, It was the first time I've ever felt something for someone." she said and I realized I had tears running down my face. "I care about you, Ollie. I thought about you the day you ran away. I was grateful that you were the one who saved me, not the fireman. I love you, Olivia Bradley." she said and I smiled. "I love you too, Lauren." I blurted out. "What?" she asked looking confused. "I love you. That day we talked in the starbucks parking lot, I actually wanted to tell you how I feel. I was just too scared. Steven and I, we were nothing. I never felt sparks with Steve like the ones I feel around you. When we stopped being friends, It hurt me. Like a lot. That's the reason why I started to go to hardcore parties. The fire in the church probably started because that I smoked. I saved you from the fire because I was worried about you and yeah. I love you, Lauren Winston." I said and she bit her lips. "When I get out of this place, do you want to go on a date?" she asked. "We can have the date here." I said and she smiled. We just laughed and we hugged. Her hugs. Wow. I love her hugs. The way she wraps her arms, her body heat, just everything. I just smuggled my face into the crook of her neck and I wrapped my arms around he neck.
"Olivia," she said as I felt the rhythm of her breathing. "Yeah?" I asked. "Don't you ever smoke again, ya?" she asked and I nodded on her neck. "I promise, Laur." I said and rolled myself onto her side with her arms still wrapped around my shoulder. "Hey, Lauren, since there's a guitar right there, can you sing a song for me?" I asked and she gave me the 'really' look. "Come on, please, Lauren?" I asked. "Alright, baby. Just can you get it out of the case and pass it to me?" she asked and I hopped off the bed to get the guitar out of the case. I guess it was Lauren's. Just because it was the Ed Sheeran signature. "Here." I said and she took the guitar. I smiled and she played the first chord.
Paint me a picture
Show me your colors
I'm gone when I'm with you
But I'm better than ever
I breathe you in
You breathe me out
You just take it all away
You're acid rain in an endless drought
But you make it all okay
Take me to your place
You set me on fire
You tell me it's okay
While you burn me alive
I breathe you in
You breathe me out
You just take it all away
You're acid rain in an endless drought
But you make it all okay
You tell me that you want me
But we both know that's not true
Cause you're a beautiful disaster
And I'll never be good enough for you
Think you're addicted to the chase
Think I'm addicted to the pain
I breathe you in
You breathe me out
And you play me like a game
You're in my veins
Can't get you out
I'm addicted to the pain
Cause you don't have a piece of me
You've got all of me
And you're never gonna change
I let you in
You let me down
Cause you're never gonna stay
You are never gonna stay
No you're never gonna stay
You are never gonna stay
You were never gonna stay
I just smiled at her afterwards. Her voice is just an angel. She smiled and I laid beside her after she puts the guitar against the wall. We just cuddled and stared into the ceiling. "I love you, Olivia Bradley." she said and I smiled. "I love you too, Lauren Winston." I said.
